Lies
They say time heals all wounds.
They lie.
Time merely gives the wound a chance to fester.
Eventually it becomes infected, swollen, sore.
Instead of improving, it destroys your life from within.
If the wound is large enough, the pain deep enough, it leaves you bitter, angry.
Soon your life seems bleak. Nothing left to live for.
Everything grows dull, nothing holds your interest for long.
Death is the only thing you long for. To know that sweet peace.
What dreams pervade the forever sleep?
Even nightmares become preferable to reality.
Soon it all fades to black, and you feel the release.
Release from pain, anger, hatred, depression, misery.
Release.
They lie.
