Blendon Woods is a great place to go to get away from the sights and sounds of the city and see nature in it entirety. This park has tons of things to offer like hiking trails, pet trails, a nature center, programs, group walks, a disk golf course, cross-county skiing, Camp Sugarbush, picnicking, and playgrounds for the kids.

Warblers in the Morning
A great way to spend the morning looking for birds on a short hike throughout the woods.

Wildlife Encounter
The Ohio Wildlife Center will have volunteers here to tell you about the animals they save. You will have the chance to meet some of the animals in their care now.

May 04 @ 1:00-4:00 p.m.
Getting Ready for Hummers!
You will learn everything you ever wanted to know about humming birds, from the type of food they like best to their migration habits. Plus, you will learn how to make an origami humming bird!
May 10 @ 1:00 p.m.
Budding Naturalists:
Animal Architecture
(ages 6-8)

Learn how animals make their homes and look for hidden nest in the woods. Plus, make your own bird nest!
May 11 @ Noon-5:00 p.m.
Mother's Goose Day

Your family can enjoy of day learning all about Canadian Geese. There is also a puppet show and a walk to Thoreau Lake.

Preschoolers:
Buzzing Bees
(ages 3-5)
The kids will learn what bees do after they visit flowers outside in the woods and gardens.

Junior Naturalists:
Jump Frogs and Hop Toads
(ages 9-12)

You will take a hike to the lake and learn how frogs and toads live in and out of the water. Please wear closed-toed shoes.
May 18 @ 1:00 p.m.
Monarch Larva Monitoring Project

Families can join in the national hunt for traces of monarchs. Check the milkweed patches for them. Plus, you will receive milkweed seeds for your own garden.

Homeschoolers:
Feathers, Flocks, and Flight

Bring your binoculars while you look and learn about birds and their habitat, field identification, and conservation.
May 24, 25, and 26 @ 1:00-4:00 p.m.
Memorial Day Weekend:
Discovery Zone

Visit all the picnic areas to see all the different finds the naturalists have brought for your enjoyment

Summer is A-Comin' In

Learn the best ways to keeps the bugs away during the summer and take a walk down the Sugarbush Trail.
