HalloweeN 4 was a critical and box office success. Michael Myers was a cash cow, and Moustapha Akkad refused to give up his piece of the meat. And so, HalloweeN 5 was released just one year after HalloweeN 4.

After a short recap from HalloweeN 4, we find out that Myers is not dead (you really shouldn't be surprised). He actually ended up in a stream, which brought him to the house of a mountain hermit, where he collapsed, and remained, until October 30, 1989. Myers awoke, and killed the hermit. Once again, he was bent on getting his niece, and ending his bloodline.

It is then revealed that Jamie (Danielle Harris) no longer speaks, but she has a telekinetic link to her uncle. I think the writer saw Friday the 13th Part 7 before he wrote this. Whenever Myers kills, she feels it. Jamie is at the Haddonfield Childrens Clinic, where she has been, not talking, since she stabbed her mother.

Halloween morning, Jamie is visited by her sister, Rachel (Ellie Cornell), and Rachel's friend, Tina (Wendy Kaplan). They bring her a costume for the clinic's Halloween party. Once again, we are introduced to Loomis (Donald Pleasence), who is still trying to stop Myers.

When Rachel arrives back home, she receives a phone call from Loomis. Jamie is picking up signals that Myers is stalking Rachel. Long story short, Rachel is stabbed with scissors, a depressing end to a bright star in HalloweeN 4.

The hunt leads back to the Myers house, where they bring Jamie as bait! They won't let him get away. Michael Lives. And This Time They're Ready!

The Boogeyman's Review

"HalloweeN 5 is rubbish," said star Donald Pleasence. Even he hated it. I do too. They shouldn't have killed off Rachel! Loomis seemed to get in everywher without any trouble, even an emergency operation! And Tina was the most annoying HalloweeN character ever!
