Jack and Rose stepped off the Carpathia and placed themselves on the pier in New York. Unluckily, it was pouring rain, and the two could barely see anything from a foot ahead of them. Jack and Rose ran to the nearest building, and stood under it. It wasn't exactly a first class treatment from the hard rain, but it covered them both. Rose was still wearing Cal's coat and Jack was wearing a coat that a gentleman gave him so he would be warm. Rose and Jack's hair was soaked, and so was their clothing.
"I think we should start finding a place to stay for the night, Rose."
"Good idea."
The two held hands, walking down the streets of New York, trying to find the nearest hotel. They then came to one that showed welcoming arms, and a stable budget. A blast of warm heating greeted Jack and Rose as they entered the hotel. Flowers were everywhere and so were many people.
"Why, hello you two!" a familiar voice said behind them.
Jack and Rose turned around and saw Molly smiling. "Molly, it's good to see you," Rose said.
"We all thought you were goners, Rose, when you went to rescue Jack here. Well, enough talk about that. Why, it looks like you guys just went under a waterfall. You're soaked to your bones," Molly said.
"Well, we just decided to have Mother Nature give us a bath today," Jack said, and Molly laughed.
"Well, I suppose you are wanting a hotel?" Molly asked.
"Well, we were thinking about it," Jack said, looking around.
"Well, it's hopeless here. Come on, let's find a different one." Molly started to walk towards the door, and Jack and Rose followed. "Here's one, right down here. They said it's cheap, hospitable, and no reporters allowed," Molly said.
They walked a little ways and approached the hotel. This one to Jack and Rose seemed the same except there were not as much people as the other one.
"May I help you, Ma'am?" the man asked.
"Yes. I'm here for a room, and so are my friends."
"Oh, Molly, that's not necessary. We can pay for it," Rose said.
"Now, come on, you two. Let me pay for it. We'll just call it an early Christmas present."
"How many rooms?"
"Two."
The man gave Molly two brass keys, and she handed one to Jack and Rose. "C-14," Molly said.
"Thanks," Jack said, and smiled.
"Uh, Rose." Rose turned around. "Do you have any plans for tomorrow?"
"No." Rose shook her head.
"Well, why don't you and I go and shop for some new clothes?"
"Sounds wonderful," Rose said with a smile. "Will twelve be all right?"
"Yes, that will be fine."
"Yes, it will." Rose nodded.
Molly smiled, and Rose smiled back. Rose followed Jack up the stairs, and stopped at the level their room was on.
"C-2, C-5, C-9, C-12, C-14. Here we are," Jack said, and unlocked the door.
Rose smiled at the room. The beds were freshly made, the carpet looked new, and there were flowers sitting on a medium-sized table.
"Wow," Jack said.
"This is beautiful," Rose said, smelling the bouquet of flowers.
Jack watched Rose smell the flowers. Her hair was recovering from the rain, and so were her clothes. She held the flowers gently with her fingers, as she smelled their rare scent. Jack thought Rose looked beautiful in that position. If he did have his sketchbook with him, he would draw her in a minute. Jack kept on staring at Rose. Rose lifted her head up, and saw Jack staring at her.
"Jack, are you feeling all right?"
"I'm feeling fine," Jack said with a smile.
Rose smiled back and came closer to Jack. "Take me to the stars," Rose whispered.
Jack started to kiss Rose, and they landed on the bed.
