Rose woke up to see Jack staring out the window. Rose crept up behind Jack and wrapped her arms around him. "Hey," Jack said with a smile.
"Hey," Rose said back, and she slid herself to the right side of Jack. He placed his hand on her shoulder and started to rub it with his thumb. Rose closed her eyes for a moment; she felt that she could fall asleep in Jack's arms. "Oh, it stopped raining," Rose said, looking out the window.
"Yeah, it quit about an hour ago."
"You have been standing here for an hour?"
"No, I have been doing other things."
"May I ask what?"
"Watching you sleep."
Rose smiled and leaned against Jack. "What time is it?"
"Ten."
"I suppose I should get ready."
"All right," Jack said, kissing Rose on the head.
"Do you mind if I wear your clothes?"
"No, go ahead," Jack said eagerly.
Rose laughed, and stepped into the bathroom to take a hot shower. She stepped out with her corset unlaced.
"Nice outfit," Jack said, chuckling.
"Thank you. Can you tie this, please?" Rose asked, turning around.
Jack tied the corset for Rose, and she stepped back into the bathroom to put her dress on. "Wait, Rose," Jack said. Rose turned around. "Molly stopped by while you were in there, and wanted me to give this to you. She thought you might want to wear a different dress today." Jack smiled.
The dress was lavender, and looked absolutely gorgeous to Rose. Rose smiled, and went into the bathroom again. She stepped out, and Jack smiled. The dress had long sleeves, and looked similar to the dress that Jack saw her in the very first time. Rose looked at the dress, then smiled back at Jack. Rose had her hair up in a fancy bun, and it matched the dress perfectly, and the shoes that she wore previously even matched. There was a knock on the door, and Jack answered it.
"Morning again, Jack."
"Morning, Molly," Jack said, opening the door wider.
"Well, it seems that Jack gave you the dress I got for you, and my, how it shows your eyes."
"Thank you, Molly, and may I say you look wonderful today also."
"Flattery will get you nowhere, honey. Ready?"
"Yes. Good-bye, Jack," Rose said, giving Jack a sweet kiss.
Molly could tell that there was sheer love between this couple, and they were not afraid to show it.
"Bye. See you in a few hours," Jack said.
"I'll get you some new clothes," Rose said to Jack, closing the door behind her. Jack waved, and smiled.
"I gotta hand it to you, Rose. You picked out a good one."
Rose smiled, and said, "Thank you. I thought so."
"So, where to first?"
"Well, I'm figuring someplace where their clothes aren't fancy."
"That sounds fine to me."
Molly hailed a taxi, and they went to a department store. The two entered the department store, and spotted a spiral staircase, and they started to walk up the stairs. Upstairs, they found women's dresses, and the two headed through the racks. The first dress Rose found was a plain dress that was baby blue. Another one was a dark violet color, and another one that would be her wedding dress. It was a plain, simple one that reminded of her of the one that she wore when Jack dined in first class. Right then, she knew that this certainly was the dress she wanted to wear for her wedding. After she found her ten new dresses, Rose decided to go over to the men's department to find Jack some clothes. Rose then found suitable clothes that reminded her of Jack. They were exactly the same type that he wore on his days on the Titanic. She bought Jack ten new pair of them also, and a new pair of boots for him also. Then, she decided to get something special for Jack for his wedding present. After the two ladies were finished shopping, it was time for the two to eat lunch.
"So Rose, when is the wedding?"
"In two days, and I'm a little nervous."
"Oh, now, don't you pay attention to that. I had the same problem when it was time for my wedding day. Every woman has cold feet, the sooner the wedding rolls around."
"I mean, it's not that I'm nervous about marrying Jack, it's just that it only seemed like yesterday when he saved me from the back of the ship."
Molly then figured that Rose was getting cold feet, and the last thing she wanted to do was to pressure it more on her. "Where do you two plan on living?"
"I'm not sure yet. I know that Jack and I will figure out a wonderful place to live in no time."
"Where would you like to live?"
"I always thought Virginia seemed nice." Rose shrugged her shoulders.
"Rose."
"Yes?"
"Whatever happened to that necklace that Cal gave you?"
Rose paused suddenly. She simply forgot about the necklace, and Cal. "Oh my, I almost forgot about that necklace. Molly, what if it's in Cal's coat?"
"What?"
"I certainly would think that Cal would not leave something that valuable on a sinking ship. Molly, we must go back to the hotel and find out." Rose started to place her napkin from her lap, onto the table.
"Wait a minute, Rose." Rose raised her eyebrows. "First, darling, you need to tell me why you were wearing Cal's coat." Rose explained to Molly how the coat ended up on Rose. "Well then, I suppose we better get a move on then," Molly said, and stood up. The two took a taxi back to the hotel, and hurried to room C-14. Rose placed her purchases on the floor by her bed, and called for Jack. There was no answer, and she went to get the coat. Rose tried the first pocket, and the remains were bundles of American money.
"Nothing but money in this one," Rose said, laying them on the table. Rose then placed her hand in the other pocket. It felt what appeared to be the necklace. As she lifted her hand out of the pocket, the shimmering stone glimmered. Rose smiled at Molly.
"Oh, my God," Molly said under her breath, coming closer to the necklace.
"I wouldn't have thought it would stay in the pocket all this time," Rose said with a smile.
Just then, the front door open and Jack appeared. Jack stopped as Molly and Rose examined the diamond. "Is that the--"
"Yes," Rose said.
Jack came closer to it, and held it. "Holy shit, it is!" Jack hugged Rose tightly, and the two smiled with joy.
"And look, a whole bunch of money also," Rose said. Molly smiled. "It looks like you two are off to a good start." The two smiled back. "Well, I'll leave you two alone for a while. It was fun shopping with you, Rose. We should do it more often."
Rose smiled, and said, "I'll look forward to it." Molly then left the room, and Jack held Rose, smiling.
