It was mid-morning two days later. Today was the day that Jack and Rose were to be married. Jack decided to go the church an hour earlier than Rose. Rose placed her hair halfway up, wore the dress that she had selected for her wedding day, and grabbed her coat.
Jack was at the train station to buy the train tickets for the honeymoon trip. Jack and Rose decided on Cape Cod, Massachusetts, and thought it would be wise to leave right after the wedding.
Rose started to walk down the streets of New York one last time. Rose had to admit this wasn't her favorite place to be. She wasn't quite sure why. It was probably since New York reminds Rose of tycoons like Cal. Rose then reached the church, and it was beautiful. The stone stairs made Rose nervous as she approached them one by one. She then approached the wooden doors, and opened them.
Jack leaned over to see if Rose was coming. Rose smiled at Jack from the back of the church, and the priest nodded his head for the woman to start playing the piano.
Rose started to march down the church aisle with a small bouquet in her hands. Jack smiled at Rose as she approached closer. Jack let out his hand for Rose to approach the altar. The priest began to say the vows. "The rings, please?" the priest asked. Jack took the rings from out of his pocket. Rose's ring had two small white diamonds on it, and Jack's was a gold band. Jack slipped Rose's on, and Rose slipped Jack's on. "I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may now kiss the bride." The priest closed his book, and Jack and Rose kissed.
The priest and pianist clapped their hands, and Jack and Rose smiled at each other.
"Father, what time is it?" Jack asked.
"Eleven."
"Well, we better start heading for the train station," Jack said, and kissed Rose's hand.
A taxi was waiting outside for Jack and Rose. The two stepped in, and the driver took off to the train station.
"Do you have the tickets?" Rose asked eagerly.
"Yep. Right here." Jack waved the tickets, and then placed him back into his new coat that Rose got for him.
The car then stopped, and Jack gave the taxi driver the proper amount of money. Jack grabbed Rose's hand as the walked towards the train. Jack showed his tickets to the ticket collector, and he nodded his head for them to come aboard.
"All right, we are looking for cabin A-9, Rose," Jack said, walking down aisle, and Rose followed.
"There it is, Jack." Rose pointed to the gold-plated letters on a wooden door.
Jack smiled at Rose, then opened the door. In the room were two beds, a closet, and a nightstand drawer, which held on top of it a pitcher and bowl.
"Hey, pretty nice, huh?"
Rose smiled at Jack and looked around the room. She went over to the bed and felt the soft sheets. "It is pretty nice." Rose breathed in the scent of the room. "Well, we will be staying here for a day. It won't be that long."
"It is a lovely room; it's so elegant. Especially for a train." Rose sat down on the bed.
Jack sat next to Rose, and looked into her eyes. "Are you hungry?"
"Starving."
"Come on." Jack took Rose's hand, guiding her down the aisle to the cafe car. Jack and Rose sat at a booth next to a window so they could watch the scenery. "Good afternoon. Today's special is the clam chowder." The waiter placed two menus in front of Jack and Rose. "I will take your order shortly." The waiter then walked away, and Jack and Rose looked at the menus.
"What are you having?" Jack asked.
"The chicken noodle seems good to me. How about you?"
"I'm having the spaghetti." Rose smiled at Jack, and looked down at her menu. "How about some red wine?" The waiter approached the table, and Jack requested his meal and the wine while Rose requested hers. "Where would you like to live?" Rose asked as they waited for their meals.
"I always thought that the New England states were nice, especially in the fall." Jack set down his glass of wine.
"Really?"
Jack nodded his head. "Virginia and Cape Cod are my favorites." Rose smiled; she was so happy that Jack had that much in common with her. "Why? Where would you like to live?"
"I always loved Virginia," Rose said, shrugging her shoulders.
"Well, maybe when we are finished with Cape Cod, we'll go to Virginia, and see what their houses are like." "Really? Oh, Jack, I love you so much!" Rose said with happiness.

After supper, Jack and Rose went back to their cabin. "All right, Jack, I know that it isn't anything huge, but I thought it would suit you," Rose said, and handed Jack a box.
Jack looked up at Rose and smiled. He then started to unwrap the box. Jack placed the tissue paper to the side, and found some stencils and a new sketchpad. "Rose, it's great. Thank you. Now yours," Jack said and handed Rose a small box.
Rose opened the box and found a necklace with a small, flat, gold heart pendant. On the back, it had the words inscribed 'A Promise Kept'. Rose smiled at Jack, and put the pendant on. She wrapped her arms around Jack's neck, and said, "Thank you."
The two then kissed, and retreated off to bed for a night of romance.
