"Max, will you please hand Mommy the red ornament?" Rose stood on a wooden stool as she wrapped the silver garland around the pine-scented Christmas tree.
"Sure, Mommy." Carefully, Max picked up a red Christmas ball ornament from the carefully packaged Christmas box.
Rose watched and let out slight chuckles as Max held the Christmas ornament with both hands and carefully walked over towards the tree. He carefully handed his mother the ornament and she took it out of Max's hands with a wonderful smile.
"Thank you, Max."
"Do you think Santa is watching me?"
"I'm sure he is, and I know that you'll certainly get that snow sled you always wanted."
"YAY!" Max shouted out in excitement.
"Calm down, Max. There's still three more days until Christmas," Jack said as he came into the den with firewood in his arms. He had a slight dust of snow on his coat, and some snowflakes in his hair.
"Hey, is it really coming down out there?" Rose squinted her eyes, trying to look out the window across from the other side of the den.
"Yeah, Max. It's a really good time to make snowmen."
"Can I, Mommy?"
"I don't see why not, but you'll have to dress warmly."
"Okay Mommy. Daddy, can you dress me?"
"I sure can." Jack threw in the firewood, and then took off his gloves, and stuffed them into his pocket.
"Oh Jack, before you go, can you hand me that blue ornament, please?"
"Yeah, sure."
"Thank you, Jack. Remember, you're in charge for putting on the Christmas star."
Jack smiled. "I haven't yet, have I?"
Rose smiled and leaned down on the stool to kiss him. Jack kissed back passionately, and Rose let out a smirk while they kissed. Jack then stopped, and Rose laughed, smoothing the back of his neck with her warm hand.
"You better go get him dressed before he bursts." Rose chuckled.
"All right," Jack said, and followed Max upstairs.
"Check on Audrey, will you?"
"Yep."
"Well, that's about all of them, except for the star," Rose said, looking around the Christmas tree. Max then came down with his snow clothes on, ready to go and play. "Is she still sleeping?"
"Yeah."
"Have fun, Max."
"I will, Mommy."
Rose decided to go and make a warm snack for when Max came back inside. She looked through her cupboards to see whether or not she had all the ingredients for cookies.
