Meditation is a skill that takes practise to develope, it can be hard to clear your mind and relax, our lives being so un-relaxed daily.
The most important thing in meditation is relaxation and breathing. Breath, breath, breath! Breath in and out, deeply, like you do as you sleep. Clear all thoughts from your mind, concentrate on one sound or picture, such as your breathing.
When you meditate, wear comfortable clothing, nothing restricting. Sit in a comfortable chair any way you like, but please don't cut off your circulation!
Begin concentrating on relaxing your toes completely. Slowly move your concentration up the rest of your foot, imagining each muscle relaxing. Keep moving up your leg until it's all relaxed. Then do your other leg.
Next, do the arms. Repeat the relaxation on each arm, one at a time. Tehn do your body. Lastly, do your head. As you relax your body, pay attention to your breathing, making it slow and even.
Now just relax! Picture yourself in a beautiful garden, think happily, if the meditation has to do with magick, concentrate on it's purpose, whatever! To come out of it, count backwards from 100-0, slowly, picking up muscle tension as you go. I like to breath in on one number, out on the next. For example; on 65 take a breath in, on 64 let it out and on 63 breath in again.
