Remember Witchcraft is not only about "spells" and "rituals", it's about the belief and notice of the God and Goddess. Wiccans believe in the ability to change their lives for the better, where magick comes in. But don't be thinking I'm going to give you spells! They work best if you make them yourself, you don't even need any tools!
HOW? Making spells isn't hard, it takes belief, if you think a spell will work (REALLY believe it!), it will. A spell is kinda like a prayer, what makes it a bit different is that actual energies are called upon to make change, it is not just a "wish", it is taking the matter into our own hands and trying to do something about it. Pagans have discovered that certain items have certain properties, which can change the outcome of a spell, for example, a pink candle promotes friendship, romance and is the standard color for rituals meaning to draw affections. While a silver candle removes negativity and encourages stability. You DON'T need these tools and items to do a spell, they're just there to help.
So, your not a poet, you read the Rede's words "To bind the spell anytime, let the spell be spoke in rhyme", it's true, most spells I've made or seen are in rhyme or at least have a melodic tone to them, but you don't NEED this, you know. All you need is the belief that the spell will work.
If ever you decide to take a spell from a online BoS or something of the sort, make sure to personalize it, make it feel like your own, this works well because it ensures your own personal purpose for the spell and it makes it easier on you, as you'll feel more comfortable while working it.
Personally, I really loveNew Moon
There are assorted tools of the Craft, here I list them and their purposes, but remember, you don't NEED them!
PENTACLE:a flat disc upon which a pentagram is inscribed, along with any other symbols particular to a certain tradition. The pentacle represents the element of Earth, the Northern Quarter and the ARchanger Uriel. Items are placed on the pentacle to be charged and consecrated.
WAND:Some traditions say it represents the South and fire, others say Air and the East (just goes to show, it doesn't really matter!). It can replace the athame and the sword. It is used to draw the Circle, direct energies into items that you can consecrate, invoke the Quarters and it has other actions. It is between 6" to 12" long and the width of a finger.
ATHAME AND SWORD: The blades represent Fire and the South. The blades are NEVER used for cutting. They are used for directing energy. The sword is generally used for casting the Circle and in handfasting (marriage) rituals. The athame is used for consecrating items and invoking the Quarters.
CHALICE AND CAULDRON: They both represent the West, the element Water, and the archangel Gabrielle. The Chalice, or cup, is what would be used for the Simple Feast. The Cauldron may hold holy water or charcoal cylinders to burn incense.
BROOM: the broom, or Besom, is used to symbolically sweep all negative energy from the area the circle is to be cast. This can be a regular broom, but first purify it.
OTHER ITEMS: can include Incense, candles, and candle holders, and whatever else may be needed for your workings or rituals.
Rituals are used to communicate with the God and Goddess, they are done to worship them. They are performed at Sabbats and Esbats, Drawing Down the Moon and Sun (though the Sun is rare!), and other assorted things. (I have one to relieve depression and a Out of Body Ritual). Please don't write me asking for spells, some I got from others, some I made myself, but I don't like to give them out. That's not what Wicca is all about!
