Day. In the training room
Chris follows a fluid motion with his sword, cutting the air around him as if
he was dancing. Kira stands in the shadows watching him.
You always dance the same dance,
no new movements, never faster or slower than the time before. You must like
this dance, you dance it with an invisible partner who returns those same
graceful motions, I am jealous.
I dance the same dance because I
always learn something a bit new. No sense changing the steps and making a
second dance until you may dance the first without hesitation.
You did not come here to watch me
dance.
Very true, I want to know what
your intentions were before you wandered off into that world of yours so far
away from the rest of us. You lock us out Chris, too much. How can I help you
if you won’t let me in?
This is not something where
“help” is warranted. I simply would like to see Pamona for myself. I refuse to
commit myself to a blind journey, trying to taste nectar that doesn’t exist.
Is that the only reason Chris?
You suspect me of having more
motivations than that?
This has nothing to do with you
wanting to find some closure with the death of your parents? I find it hard to
believe. You cannot just hide behind that self-righteous mask and pretend that
everything you do is for some noble cause. You are human too Chris, you feel
just like we all feel, why you insist on hiding it is beyond me.
There is no point in dragging
this further through the mud; it will only get dirtier and harder to clean.
Let’s leave this mess and clean it from here where we can both deal with it.

wrong to feel Chris, we all do it sometime or another; why can’t you?
Day. In the reception area
Adreanna, Derek, Anthony and Sabrina all sit talking about her strange vision
waiting for Kira to bring news on Chris.
Sabrina
And the first thing that I saw
was this familiar guy, that I had never met, sprawled out on the sand from some
sort of collision. I think he was dead but he couldn’t have been. I didn’t feel
him breathing or anything either.
Anthony
Why would your mother send you
visions of people you have never met? Granted she led you to us for some
strange reason, which we now believe to be the arcane evolution. But how does
the kid on the beach tie in to all of this?
Sabrina
I don’t know, I haven’t had much
time to think it over to tell you the truth. The other thing that was strange
is that Pamona said that I wasn’t meant to see him…as though seeing him could
alter the events set to stage themselves before us.
Derek
So you are saying that you are
getting glimpses at what is yet to come? Strange. That guy must have a special
role to play if by you seeing him can alter the way of our destiny. You said
that he was familiar too, hmmm…how in the hell is he connected to us?
Adreanna
A familiar looking face, an
unknown place, at a time we don’t know and can’t even imagine at this point.
Wicked. Maybe he is part of the Arcane Evolution; as well you know a missing
link…
Anthony
Or even THE missing link.
Adreanna
This is serious, we have to help
Sabrina.
Anthony
I know.
Derek
Maybe we can figure this out in
time, I am sure we will. I just don’t want to rack my brains about this
anymore. We will find out at one point or another.
Kira
Enters
So what did I miss?
Sabrina
Forget it, we will have to
explain it to you later on. There is no way I am retelling that story again.
Adreanna
How’s Chris doing? After you and
he left we kind of just sat here goggle-eyed. Is he okay?
Kira
Sighs
He says he’s fine and I want to
believe him, but I think that he is hiding something from me. He wont talk
about it and its bugging me. I think he knows that to. Sabrina do you think
that Pamona will send him a vision?
Sabrina
I don’t know. I wish I could tell
you yes and end your curiosity. I hope she does though, I don’t think we can do
it without him, we are all vital to the Arcane Evolution…or so that is what I
gather from Pamona.
Anthony
I hope Chris finds what he is
looking for. If he wasn’t always so caught up in taking himself so seriously then
he’d deal a lot better with all of the bullshit life throws at us, but until
then…until then who knows.
Derek
We’re about to head off. We’ll
probably run through a quick training session at the house anybody else up for
it?
Adreanna
Stands
Count me in! I’ve been practicing
some stuff and I want to see if I am better than the last time we sparred. Anybody besides me going to go?
Sabrina
No I’m going to stay here with
Chris and Kira, who knows, maybe they’ll meditate later.
Derek
Well then I guess we’ll see you
later.

What about Chris, what should we
do?
Kira
Just leave him alone; he decides
when he wants to interact with the rest of us.
Night. In the guest room
Sabrina sleeps.
Sabrina
Enter dream sequence
Pamona? Where are you?
Chris
I’ve been waiting here for her; I
have yet to find her.
Sabrina
Whoa, wait a minute we’re in the
same dream? How?
Chris
I don’t know, but I saw you once
you arrived. I have had a few seconds to get over it, that is why I am not as
tripped out about it as you.
Sabrina
Pamona
Chris
I doubt that she’ll even come.
Sabrina
What do you want from her Chris,
what can Pamona offer you that will be better than anything I may offer.
Chris

Well then, are you satisfied
Christopher?
Chris
Pamona I presume?

At your service. I hear that you have requested my presence.
What is it that you want to know?
Chris
The Arcane Evolution…why?
Pamona
Why? Simple, Human kind must
reunite with the gods that created them. If we are not allowed to reunite the
universe will reset itself until we get it right…have you ever experienced de
já vu?
Chris
Yes
Pamona
De já vu occurs when a set of
previously recorded events overlap, thus the result is a sense of familiarity.
From that, I assume you have concluded that the universe has already reset
itself more than once and will continue to do so until human kind evolves.
Sabrina
Pamona, then why am I here? If
the vision is for Chris why must I be here?
Pamona
I tell you know as the most
serious of warnings. Forget what you saw, or you will want to see more.
Understand Sabrina that the more of events to come you see the more they will
change. If those events change too much all is lost. Heed this warning more
than anything else.
Sabrina
I understand.
Pamona
The Arcane Evolution is not the
only reason you have requested to see me is it Chris? I know you want the
blessing of your mother and father before you continue on with the life you
have chosen. Trust me, you do them no dishonor; in fact your participation will
only strengthen their pride and your family honor.
Chris
I want to speak with them for
myself, for the last eleven years of my life I have wandered, a fish in a
stream looking for water. I feel them all around me but yet I cannot see them,
please this is not for my family honor, but for me. I want to understand this
with all my heart.
Pamona
I know that Christopher…however I
am not allowed to grant access to them. The only way you will be able to be
with your family once again is to help the others continue the Arcane
Evolution. Once you and the rest of human kind has evolved you will be
reunited…not until then though…I am sorry.
Chris
I understand. The only thing that
stands in the way of my honor, my family, and me are six billion lives. No
problem
Sabrina
So you are going to join the rest
of us?
Chris
It is the only way to become
closer to my family. I now swear on my family name to continue the evolution
through to the end. Failure is not an option. My life now is dedicated to the
Arcane Evolution.
Pamona
I see…strong words, be sure that
you mean them.
Chris
I only say what I mean.
Sabrina
What now Pamona, we all now await
your guidance? We are all ready and willing to help.
Pamona

Yes I see that…your parents are
correct about you Christopher…their little dragon. Seriously, you must now
leave this place and travel to Mt. Kosciusko in Australia. From there I will hand
out to you further instructions. However before you leave, I want to meet with
all of you.
Sabrina
How, I don’t think that this
dreaming vision is the most efficient usage of the time.
Pamona
Have everyone meditate tomorrow
night. From there I will answer questions from the others and then give you a
more detailed explanation of instructions.
Chris
So you leave us now?
Pamona
Yes,
Chris
Will you see my mother and
father?
Pamona
Why?
Chris
Tell them I try to honor them in
spite of my sadness. Ask them to forgive me for being the son I know I should
be to them with the family name.
Pamona
They do not believe that you do
otherwise. But I will tell them what you ask.
End dream sequence
Dusk. In the rock garden of
Chris and Kira’s home Adreanna, Derek, Anthony, and Sabrina all sit in a circle
preparing to meditate.
Kira
Here we are. What do we do now?
Sabrina
I think it is just like
meditating in any other sense. If we clear our minds we should be able to bring
her into our minds. We all just have to have a common link. When meditating
think of the rock garden, at least then we should all end up in the same place.
Adreanna
Well here goes.

Ah, I see that we are all here.
As I am sure you have guessed. Christopher is joining the evolution as you have
decided to do. You are all familiar with the goal of the Arcane Evolution?
Anthony
Yes. But one thing that at least
I know Derek and I don’t understand is how do those bracelets come into play.
What are they for Pamona?
Pamona
Those bracelets are the seven
essences of life. They are the seeds of stars; they are looking for a place to
sprout. Your bodies will be their containers.
Adreanna
Will we be able to use these
essences to help us evolve human kind?
Pamona
Yes. Each one is a concentrated
version. The more you master yourself and your personal skills, the more
powerful your control over an essence of life becomes. When you reach full
power you will be masters of the universe.
Kira
How is this power harnessed? You
mentioned we will become powerful and be able to control a specific essence of
life, but how will this power manifest itself?
Pamona
The insignia on your weapons will
determine how the power will manifest itself.
Adreanna
What do you mean?
Pamona
Each of you on your weapons has a
mythical creature inscribed on it as your insignia that is how that power will
manifest itself. For you Adreanna, the Pegasus is how the power will come to you
for that is what is carved on your bow. For Anthony it will be the Phoenix,
Kira will have the Unicorn, Derek will use a Leviathan, Sabrina will use a
Griffin, and Christopher will have the Dragon.
Chris
Why do we have these specific
creatures?
Pamona
These are the creatures that you
have chosen to ride on your weapons, you have a special connection to these
creatures they are part of you spiritually more than you know.
Derek
Having all of this power
available cannot invite good tidings. Will we ever be overridden by the power
we poses?
Pamona
Anything is possible. However I
suspect that it should not be a real issue.
Chris
Since we have that cleared up,
what do we do now?
Pamona
Once you are ready you must
depart from Japan and head to the mountain I specified earlier. Once there I
will lead you to the power source and will explain that from there. You all
must take your weapons with you to the mountain.
Sabrina
Is that all we are allowed to
know as of this point along the path?
Pamona
Yes, I am afraid so. I will watch
you, until then my young ones farewell.

Well then, it’s simple. Pack your
bags; we’re going to Mt. Kosciusko in Australia.
