of the Thunder Road 1941 Willy's Chassis - 4130 chrome
moly, high bar twin rail design. Based on funny car principles but spring and
with driver offset to the left side. Painted in two pack black as powder coating
can hide minor cracks.
Engine - 526ci Keith Black Hemi, based on stage 7 raised cam block.
Thunder Road Carbon Fiber injection hat. 16/17 Littlefield blower. Twin Mallory
magnetos. Walt Austin Racing billet heads. Sonny Bryant Top Fuel billet crank.
Crane cam. Produces approx 2500 hp.
Clutch - Crower 10.7" tripple plate pedal clutch.
Transmission - Air shifted three speed Lenco.
Tailshaft - Mild Steel.
Rear End - Thunder Road sheet metal diff. Mark Williams 40 spline
internals with magnesium floaters and four spot callipers. Alston Eagle coil
overs.
Ladder Bars - Thunder Road
Rims - Cragar series 48 bead locks. 16 by 16 and 15 by 3.5.
Tyres - Goodyear front runners and Goodyear Eagle slicks 16/17/36.
Paintwork - Pace Paint and Panel, Mackay. Paint and material supplied by
Spies Hecker.
Time to build - A total of 16 weeks and 3 days from bare jig to complete
running car.
Crew - Cherie Elcoate the finance manager, Mick Elcoate - crew chief,
Shane Elcoate - Driver, Ashley Pimm, Des Pimm, Doug Bottrell,
"Bruiser", Brett Anderson. Best ET and Speed - 6.37 @ 215 mph
