Charles Thomas* MOZINGO, son of Thomas C MOZINGO and Rebecca JONES , was born abt. 1815 in Richmond Co, VA - (Prob.). He married Rebecca F HOILMAN 21 January 1836 in Allegheny Co, VA. He died 09 September 1862 in Poolsville, MD. Rebecca F HOILMAN was born 07 May 1813 in VA. She died 08 November 1873 in Kerrs Creek, Rockbridge Co, VA.

...Charles Thomas Mozingo, born about 1816 in Virginia. Known records indicate that Charles Thomas's family lived in Rockbridge County VA . Charles T. served for the Confederacy. Died from battle wounds at Poolsville MD Sept. 1862. Recognized on Confederate monument in Washington VA. Can't document Father of Charles Thomas. This line remained in VA.

Today I received copies of what NARA has on file of my gggrandfather's Confederate records. These records (Regimental Returns and Register) show that he was a Private with Company G of the 12th Regiment Virginia Cavalry which was created from the 10th Regiment Virginia Cavalry and organized on June 21, 1862 and that he was wounded and captured on September 9, 1862 at Poolesville, MD. It does not show date of death but it does show R. (Rebecca) Mozingo, widow filed claim of deceased on August 27, 1863. Although it has lines for Where Born and Where Died they are all blank.

There is a reference to Confederate Archives, Chapter 10, File Number 34 and page 76 so if this is something that can be referenced and someone out there knows where to start I would greatly appreciate it if you could share that with me. ...Bill Mozingo
