Is a Deposition from 1800 of Nanney SHIRLEY, Daughter of John MOZINGO
State of No Carolina
Lenoir County ---- August 22, 1800

In Obedience to an order of the last superior court of Newbern to me directed to take the disposition of Nanney Shirley in a cause wherein Nathan Hanks is the Plaintiff and Thomas Tucker is defendant----------

Who upon her oath depose and saith that her father John Mozingo, upwards of Forty years ago rented a plantation of John Creel that she heard the said Creel say he bought of Henry Rowley lying between the littet March and where the said John Creel lived and died, and that she always ecpected (sic) and never new (sic) any other but what the land belong to the said John Creel
