Family Records of Debbie McKnight, I am a descendent of Benjamin Franklin Mozingo and Mossie Comer Mozingo, they were my great grandparents. Some of their children were missing from your site. The children that are missing are Frank, Isabelle and Bud. I was elated with the work you have done on this, but quite shocked because we were told by my Great Grandfather (Benjamin Franklin Mozingo) that we were of Sicilian descent. Frank and Mossie both died in Detroit, Michigan in the late 50's. The family fled Lafollett, TN to find work in the factories and escape poverty. Maree was my grandmother. (She had 9 children) ....

Additional Notes: Pvt. Levi L. Comer (1846-1888), son of John and Elisabeth Comer of Campbell County, enrolled for 1-year in the War of the Rebellion at Evansville, IN 1-14-1865. Served in the 143rd Inf. Reg.,IN Vols, Co I, under Capt. Ira J. Burch. Mustered out of service Nashville, TN 10-17-1865. Returned to Campbell Co and Married Martha Phillips (1853-1875),ca 1867 of Campbell Co. Martha was sister of Lt. Col. Milton L. Phillips, Lt. John F. Phillips, 1st TN Inf. Co B, and Pvt. Calvin B. Phillips, 9th TN Calv. Children of Levi and Martha were John, William Frank, Jane and Katherine. Levi married Jennie Hudson 1879, in Girlton, TN, just north of Lafollett. Children were George W. and Mossie Comer Mozingo. Levi was granted invalid's Pension ca 1887, Jennie Hudson Comer rec'd widow's pension # 273583 in 1916 until her death in 1927. Son George rec's minors pension # 512604 ca 1889. Levi is buried in Stout-Dossett Cemetery beside 1st wife, Martha Phillips and the Phillips Family.
