Notes for Susan MOZINGO:

From the Files of Melicent Remy:

1847, May 16Deed of sale of land of Graddy Mozingo acquired through estate of Sally Mozingo to John Robinson (husband of Graddys sister, Alley). Price: $40.

1852, Nov. 16Deed of sale of land of Winifred Mozingo, Graddy Mozingo and Anna Anderson (all siblings) to John Robinson (husband of their sister, Alley) of the lot of land that had been Pierce Mozingos (17 3/4 acres).

1872, June 12Deed of sale of the land inherited by Susan Mozingo Ward from Sally Mozingo, by Susans inheritors, which although are stated as Lewis Ward, Sr. (Susans husband) and children, also include some of the grandchildren - i.e. a Lewis and a Lewis, Jr. - one of these is of the next generation down. This land was sold to Rufus Mozingo of Wayne Co., N.C. and the deed of sale was recorded in Brooks Co., Ga. (once Thomas Co., where Lewis and Susan had gone when they left N.C. for the second time) and sent to Wayne Co. for filing. (I have never found a copy of this in Brooks Co., but will look again when I return.) 21 acres were sold for $21 dollars. Note that the "old Roberts Road" is mentioned in the description.
