Feb 21, 1842Graddy Mozingo was appointed executor of the estate of Elva or Elvy Mozingo. Graddy and Richard Hinson were appointed guardians of Martha, Jane (or could be one person Martha Jane) and Rufus Mozingo.

Feb 20, 1844 Inventory listing of Elvy's estate submitted to the court. The major asset was $29.00 "account against" Sally Mozingo. (Wayne Co NC Estate Records, NC State Archives file # CR 103, 508.110)

...You know I never checked in Lenoir County for the bastardly bonds so there could be.... The only ones I did find were for Elvy Mozingo when Rufus Mozingo was b. His father was possibly Matthew HINSON or Richard BEST???? The HINSON's family and Mozingo family were close friends/neighbors
Constable Richard HINSON was the executor of Sarah GRADDY MOZINGO's estate.... Luiza Mozingo when Winney Mozingo was b. charging Aaron HINSON- they later married. Graddy Mozingo when his child was b. to Mary Sellars or Mary Johnson. I believe he later married Mary Johnson. The court record for Winney Mozingo and Thomas Grant was a court case charging them with fornication, however, the date was so close to the time Mark Mozingo was b. and that is why I feel Mark may have had a twin brother, Thomas, they were both the same age...Thomas and Rufus Mozingo were living with John GRANT and Lisha (Mozingo) GRANT by the 1850 census. Elvy Mozingo had died in 1842 so had Sarah (GRADDY) MOZINGO and Celia Parrott MOZINGO--- I don't know what happened to Jane and Wes Mozingo the other children of Elvy MOZINGO??? There was a close association with these families...
