Died. On the 22nd day of March, 1882, Mr. James J. Monzingo, of this Parish. He had suffered for many years with chronic rheumatism, and his friends were endeavoring to send him to Blanchard Springs, in Arkansas, for his health but all too late. He was a good and useful man, and will surely reap his reward in the next world.

Hi, you-all! I'm giving it another try to locate some cousins. I said I thought two of the Hodges girls married into the Monzingo family -- however, I just found the names MITTIE PALMER Monzingo and CLARA E. (the "E" might have been "Edmond" or "Evelyn") PALMER Hodges on the back of an old photo. Clara E. Palmer married Alexander Stephens Hodges and became my great-grandparents. I believe one of the Monzingo marriages I recalled was my great-grandmother's older sister, Mittie Palmer. Her name might have been Martha.? I may have information somewhere on which Monzingo man she married, but have not been able to find it yet.
If you don't know of anyone descended from this woman, but if you know Monzingo people who are not included in the e-mail addresses above, will you please send this message to them and see if they can help me locate some cousins, or at least some information about this branch of my family. I want so much to finally learn something about them.
