Gayle wrote that I am interesting in an X-linked genetic disablilty. A small correction. It is not Fragile-X. It is an X linked diaabilty that has been only found in our extended family. All of these individual are decented through Sallie( Sarah) Mazingo, Walker, Daughter of Jonathan Mazingo and Dorcus Skinner. There are three generations of affected individuals and one suspect generation. The problem appears to be in the DNA sequencing on the X chromosone. It affects males but females are the carriers. This family is reported to have had 13 girls, however, we have only been able to find verificatiion of 6 of them. Any information would be appreciate. this Family moved to Alabama around 1836. Also, does anyone know if there is a connection between Byrd (Bird) Mozingo and Jonathan Mozingo. they were both in the same part of Alabam around 1836. ... Barbra
