From Lineages Report:
John MOZINGO and his family moved to Buchanan County, Missouri from Campbell County, Tennessee. In Campbell County on 9 March 1832, John MAZINGO purchased fifty acres from Joseph BARREN. The disposition of this tract is unknown, but John probably sold the land before 1838 as there are no deeds of his from that date in Campbell County. Prior to 1838, only some records have been preserved.
A quitclaim deed (was) made in Nodaway County, Missouri in 1868 involving William J. and Nancy SHEPHERD and James and Elizabeth IRWIN, who sold their interest in the estate of John MOZINGO. The deed stated that Nancy SHEPHERD was the daughter of John MOZINGO. Although the deed did not specify that Elizabeth IRWIN also was Johns daughter, it is only possible for her and her husband to have sold an interest that they had acquired through inheritance. (This needs to be rechecked as it is in conflict with the children listed in the probate record. SMM)
John MOSINGO purchased land from John SAUNDERS of Nodaway County on 19 July 1851.
The plat book of Nodaway County, Missouri published in 1893 states that John MOZINGO and his two sons, Allen and Silas, emigrated from Culpeper County, Tennessee (sic) in 1840.
