LAKE WYLIE, S.C. - James Brantley Mozingo Sr., 70, passed away Aug. 18, 2008, suddenly in his sleep, while away on business in Baltimore, Md. He was the son of the late James Brantley Mozingo and the late Ruth Fudge Mozingo of Rock Hill, S.C. Friends and family will say goodbye to Mr. Mozingo Saturday Aug. 23 with a viewing at 1 p.m. A service to celebrate his life will be 2 p.m. at M.L. Ford & Sons Funeral Home, 4820 Charlotte Highway, Lake Wylie, SC. M. L. Ford & Sons Funeral Home, Lake Wylie, SC is serving the family of Mr. Mozingo.

James Mozingo Sr.
LAKE WYLIE -- James Brantley Mozingo Sr., 70, of Lake Wylie, S.C., passed away Aug. 18, suddenly in his sleep, while away on business in Baltimore, Md.

The son of the late James Brantley Mozingo and the late Ruth Fudge Mozingo of Rock Hill, S.C., Mr. Mozingo was loved dearly by many, especially his younger siblings, Jerry Lee Mozingo of Edgemoor and Jane Langley of Rock Hill.

"He was not only a brother, but a dear, dear friend," Jerry Mozingo sai

Mr. Mozingo was survived by his wife of 46 years, Wylene Ryan Mozingo of Lake Wylie; daughter, Teresa and Brian D. Sullivan Sr. of Boston; sons, Edward Allen Mozingo of Lake Wylie and James Brantley Mozingo Jr. of Lake Wylie; daughter-in-law, Anne Murray Mozingo of Cape Neddick, Maine; brother, Jerry and Jane Mozingo of Edgemoor; sister, Jane and Wayne Langley of Rock Hill; three grandsons, Brian Daniel Sullivan of Stanford, Conn., Joseph Patrick Sullivan of Boston, Mass., and William Wyatt Murray Mozingo of Cape Neddick, Maine; and many nieces and nephews.

Mr. Mozingo was pre-deceased by his son, William Wiley Mozingo.

Born in Rock Hill, Mr. Mozingo graduated in 1958 from the University of South Carolina, with a degree in business administration. He was the national accounts manager for Unico Holdings Inc. of Lake Worth, Fla. He had a long and successful career as an executive in the retail industry. Mr. Mozingo loved the game of golf. His motto was described in a sign on the wall of his home office: "Don't ever give up."

Friends and family will say goodbye to Mr. Mozingo Saturday, Aug. 23 with a viewing at 1 p.m. A service to celebrate his life will be at 2 p.m. at M.L. Ford & Sons Funeral Home, 4820 Charlotte Highway, Lake Wylie.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be sent to River Hills Emergency Squad, 4 Heritage Drive, Lake Wylie, SC 29710.
