Deceased Name: OBITUARIES: ATLANTA: Bill Mozingo, 42, was a chef at several eateries in the metro area Top-rated French chef Bill Mozingo decided to come out of the kitchen to manage restaurants and did both in metro Atlanta. When Toulouse restaurant, formerly one of the city's top spots for French dining, started serving lunch, its special was Fresh Brook Trout Mozingo, named for the chef.

William Wiley Mozingo, 42, formerly of Atlanta and Cobb County, died of a cerebral hemorrhage Monday at his Cape Neddick, Maine, residence. The funeral is 10 a.m. Friday at the United Methodist Church of York in Maine. Lucas-Eaton Funeral Home in York is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Mozingo worked at Brennan's of Atlanta in 1979-81 before becoming sous-chef at the Capital City Club and later at the Tower Place Hotel, said his wife, Anne Murray Mozingo. In 1983, he became executive chef at Toulouse in the Colony Square Hotel.

He was reviewed by Gourmet magazine, awarded five diamonds by AAA and received a five-star rating from Mobil, she said.

"Bill was a tremendous chef," said a former boss, Christian Ferrari of Atlanta's Neptune Seafood.

After working as executive chef at Walter Mitty's in Virginia-Highland 1985-87, Mr. Mozingo focused on restaurant management. From 1987 to 1994, when he left the Atlanta area, he managed restaurants in Marietta, including Buffalo's Cafe and Winston's Food and Spirits. Since the fall, he had been innkeeper at the Beachouse and the Yachtsman Lodge and Marina in Maine.

Survivors other than his wife include a son, William Wyatt Murray Mozingo of Cape Neddick; his parents, James Brantley Mozingo and Wylene Ryan Mozingo of Greensboro, N.C.; two brothers, Edward Allen Mozingo of Lake Wylie, S.C., and James Brantley Mozingo Jr. of Fairfield, Conn.; and a sister, Teresa Sullivan of Reading, Mass.

Widow joins brain harvesting lawsuit �Anne Mozingo, of Cape Neddick, Maine, filed a lawsuit with the U.S. District Court in Portland on March 29 claiming employees of the State Medical Examiner's Office and the Stanley Medical Research Institute in Maryland harvested her husband's brain and other organs without permission. Mozingo's husband, Bill, 42, died in 2000 after suffering a brain aneurysm. Shortly after his death, Mozingo says her husband's organs were sold to the Maryland Institute for $150,000.
