I, REBECCA DANIEL of the aforesaid County and
State, being of sound mind, but considering the uncertainty of my
earthly existence, do make and declare this my last will and testament;
First my executor hereinafter named shall give my body a decent burial
and pay all expenses together with all my just debts out of the money
that may come into his hands belonging to my estate.
Second I give and devise to my beloved son, MAJOR DANIEL, one tract of
land in Wayne County, and in Saulston Township, being the one I live
on, and adjoining the lands of Josiah Hill and H.J. Newsom and others;
also I give to my beloved son MAJOR DANIEL one other tract in the piney
woods, known as the BENNETT NEWSOM land, adjoining the lands of H.J.
Newsom, J.R. DANIELS and others: Also I give to my beloved son MAJOR
DANIEL, all of my personal property, household and kitchen furniture,
Just like I leave it at my death, except one bed and bed cover for one
bed, which I give to my beloved grand daughter BESSIE VIOLER DANIEL.
Also it is my will that my beloved son MAJOR DANIEL pay to my beloved
daughters, NANCY WORRELL, fifty dollars; FANNIE SAULS, fifty
dollars; REBECCA ELIZA SMITH, fifty dollars: and to SARAH J. SMITH,
fifty dollars; and NETTIE MOZINGO, fifty dollars; and JOHN ANN
NEWSOM fifty dollars; and MARY NEWSOM, fifty dollars; and TROY
DANIEL, fifty dollars; and it is my will that my beloved son MAJOR
DANIEL have 10 years to settle with the rest of the heirs, the first
one to be paid twelve months after my death, then one each year until
all is paid. My two beloved sons, W.H. DANIEL and JOSEPH R. DANIEL, I
have already given all that I desired for them. Now, therefore my will
and desire is that JOSEPH B. PARKS is hereby constituted and appointed
Executor to my last will and testament, in witness whereof I the said
REBECCA DANIEL do hereunto set my hand and seal, this the 6th
of March, 1899.
