Painscale is a brutally heavy band from the St. Louis area. Formerly known as Throedown, Painscale has been in existence for over 5 years. The line-up has altered slightly over the years and they are now more solid than ever.

Painscale bases their music on influences such as Machine Head, Soulfly, Snot, and many others in the vast, growing local and national metal scene, but manages to put their own original spin on each song. Painscale has played many local venues in St Louis, such as Mississippi Nights, Pop's, Creepy Crawl, Side Door, and Hi-Pointe. They have participated in events for 104.1 Extreme Radio and Midwest Productions, blowing away those who have never seen them before, and continuing to enthrall their growing fan-base.

Painscale is as follows:

- Chip Montgomery (Guitar) - With tight riffs and an energetic stage presence, Chip delivers the punch while keeping the flow of the music stable.

- Charles Rackley (Bass) - Covering the low-end with a bone crushing statement, Charles provides the audience a performance to compliment Chip's while his grooves lay the foundation for Painscale's music.

- Geoff Sprock (Drums) - The true backbone behind the style, Geoff has arguably the fastest feet in the St. Louis area. His ability to combine complicated beats with speed is unmatched.

- Nick Book (Vocals) - Nick adds an additional dimension to the lyrical assault of the band. His vocal styling, strongly influenced by bands such as Hatebreed, helps to pull the Painscale experience over the edge.  

Painscale is what the local music scene is about, and with the help of everyone involved, they intend to put St. Louis on the Metal map, where it should be.
