Roach Spray
Hardcore-Music that is too wimpy and stupid to be considered metal, with guitars with a lot of distortion to cover the guitarist's poor playing, and not-so-subtle hip-hop influences.
Was I blunt enough? I hate this band. I'll admit, I have nothing personal against the band members, but everything else about them irritates me. Part of it is their mainstream "success", but I wouldn't have any problem with that if their music didn't suck! What the heck is it? It's not innovative, they don't explore much musically, their singer has an annoying voice, they aren't heavy (unless you're comparing them to Elton John), they have no sex appeal, and they have no qualities of a good band. Most bands like these are unsigned, and they practice on Saturdays in someone's basement or garage. My question is: WHAT MAKES PAPA ROACH SO SPECIAL? At least they aren't headlining any national tours, because then I would be wailing on them. I'm willing to bet that the majority of Papa Roach fans have probably met the band or gotten into one of their shows for very cheap.
