Ashley and Sarah had been on and off friends since the day Ashley moved in, 9 years before. Sarah was a wild but shy girl. When tested her power of craziness shown threw. She had dark brown hair that fell to her shoulder. With curls that flew everywhere. She had dark brown eyes and was about five foot four, making her much smaller then Ashley in every way. By the looks of her you would say she was about 103 lbs. Ashley, yet, was different in many ways. She had light brown hair that fell to about her mid back. Honey brown eyes, and was about five foot six. Unlike Sarah, looking at her you would never say she 15 going on 16, more like 18 going on 19. She wasn’t 103, more like 175lbs. But despite their differences, their wild and shy sides were both the same. When tested it would show.
“My mom?” Ashley replied with a sigh. “My mom gives me ten dollars a week.”
“Well, hum. I guess beg. I don’t know, we’ll think of something.” Sarah replied. The two got up and slowly
walked over to the glass door leading to the house. They walked inside and went to Ashley’s room.
Walking into the big room Sarah went in and sat down on the red wood canopy bed with white lace
around the posts. It had a white comforter and five little white pillows on top of a big fluffy pillow. Ashley
shut her door and walked over to her desk by the window. Ashley looked over to her wall by her bed seeing
a poster of 3 guys with blond hair ranging in ages, 14, 17, and 19. The boys of Hanson.
“I just hope I can get the money by the time the tickets go on sale.” Ashley said putting the cap back on one
of the jell pens she had on her desk.
“Yeah me too. $40 for a ticket and it’s the first time they come to town.”
“Plus their tickets go on sale in a week!”
“You only have how much right now?”
“Well after buying the new album, $20"
“If only we could return the other stuff we bought.”
“Yeah, but we cant. We’re wearing one, and the others are in out stomach, already been opened, or in my
Hanson box.”
“Yeah.”
Ashley walked over to her radio that sat on her table across the room where she set her dried
flowers and turned on her new CD, putting it on the song “Runaway Run” by Hanson from their new CD “This
Time Around.” Sarah reached over into Ashley’s night stand where she had her hidden stash of gum.
“Hey!” Ashley said making Sarah jump. “Hand me one.”
Sarah laughed and handed Ashley a stick of gum. Just as she stuck the gum in her mouth, the phone rang.
Ashley reached over on the table by the radio and picked it up.
“Hello?”
“Hi, Ashley. This is Tim from Sam Goody at the Orem Mall.”
“Oh, hi. How are you?”
“Good, I’m doing good. How about you?”
“Oh, about the same. I’m a little down in the dumps. My mom only pays me ten dollars a week and the
tickets go on sale in a week. I’ve tried those stupid call in radio things, and I’m always the wrong caller.”
“Oh, well, about the tickets. I got tickets and I wanted to know if you wanted to go.”
“Tim are you kidding?”
“No, I got front row.”
“Oh How cool!”
“Do you wanna go?”
“Yes!”
“Okay, well your ticket problem is over. the next time you come down here, you can pick them up.”
“I’ll be there in about an hour. Have to take the bus.”
“Alright,” He laughed. “You better hurry, I have a special guest coming.”
“Other then me.”
“Ashley, you know what I mean.”
“Yeah, every month the mall has a concert meet and great. Ok. I’ll see you later.”
“See you then.”
“Bye.”
“Bye.”
Ashley hung up the phone and screamed. Sarah lifted an eye brow and smiled.
“Come on! We’re going to pick up our tickets!” Ashley yelled grabbing her wallet. Sarah screamed and jumped
off the bed. Sarah grabbed Ashley’s arm and they ran out the bedroom door to the hall where they ran
quickly down to the door. Sarah threw the door open and they both ran outside bearly closing the door
behind them as they made their way down the street to the Bus Number 7 stop. As they reached the bus
stop the sat down on the curb a little out of breath and very excited.
As the bus pulled up the doors opened and the driver gave them a smile.
“Hi Ashley and Sarah. Going to the mall again?” The women said as the two slipped their money into the
slots and she handed them bus transfers.
“Yes.” They said together and ran to the back of the quite bus. As Sarah sat down at the back bench, Ashley
stood up and grabbed the two polls between the hall way. As the bus started back up making everyone
jolted back making her swing. Sarah laughed and Ashley sat back down.
“MMMbop, I got clean socks, MMMbop, Clorox rocks!” Ashley said as she always did, making Sarah smile.
“I can’t believe this. He said they were front row!” Ashley told her.
“Dude, no need for a sign now!” Sarah replied and they continued to talk as they drove to the mall.
When they got to the mall the driver parked and the girls quickly got off running inside the mall to
the Sam Goody store. When they got there the store was closed off for a concert. Crowds of people waited
in the hall ways.
“Hey, where’s Tim?” Ashley asked a garde.
“Inside.” He replied.
“He just called me telling me to come down.”
“Well, I can’t let you in.”
Ashley and Sarah looked at each other and smiled.
“TIM!” They screamed making the mall echo. Tim ran out of the store laughing.
“I knew it was you.” He said pulling them into the store. As they walked in Christina Augilera was sitting in a
chair having her hair done.
“Hi, Christina.” Ashley said as if she knew her forever.
“Hi.” She replied with a smile.
“Dum-de-dum.” Tim said putting the tickets in front of her face from behind her. Ashley smiled grabbing the
tickets to see if they were real.
“Hanson. . . June 21. . .” She read aloud. Sarah smiled as she gave Tim a hug.
“Thanks man!” She said pulling away.
“Oh, no problem. You two have fun.”
“Now I need to ask, why aren’t you going?”
“Because I knew you two liked them better.”
“Awh, that’s so sweet.” Ashley said making Tim blush.
“Hey are you two going to be sticking around for a while?”
“Well, until 4:48 when the last bus home comes.”
“Christina is having a concert. Why don’t you stay.”
“Oh, no doubt. We’d love to.”
”Cool.”
Christina walked over to them and shook their hands.
“So what’s your names?” Christina asked.
“I’m Ashley, and this is Sarah.” Ashley said
“Yeah what she said.” Sarah laughed.
“It’s nice to meet you two. Would you like an autograph?”
“Sure.”
Christina pulled out two pictures of her and signed them. As Ashley and Sarah watched Tim placed them in a
bag and then handed them to the girls.
“This is so no one will try to take it from you.” Tim said.
“Thanks you guys.” Ashley said.
“No problem. Well, I need to go. So, come with me and you can fide a good seat.” Christina replied.
“Alright.” Sarah replied. They all fallowed Christina into the crowed as everyone around them screamed.
Christina pointed out a spot in front and Ashley and Sarah ran over. As Christina got on stage and started
singing, Ashley and Sarah sang along.
When the concert was over Christina ran over to her body garde.
“Hey, those two girl, go get them.” She said pointing them out. Two garde ran over and the rest ran with
Christina inside. Ashley and Sarah were pulled out of the crowed and rushed back inside the store.
“Hey girls, come here.” Christina said. The girls walked over and stood by her.
“Smile.” A photographer said. They smiled and the photographer took 2 pictures and handed them to the
girls.
“Thanks, Christina.” Sarah said taking the picture and placing it in her bag.
“No problem.” She gave them both a hug and then left again to sign autographs for the fans. Ashley and
Sarah said good bye to Tim and then left to go shopping.
By the time 4:48 come around, the girls were back on the bus telling the driver all that happened.
Once they reached the bus stop Sarah and Ashley got off and walked up the street to Ashley’s
house. When they reached her house, Sarah decided to go home.
“Alright. I’ll call you later.” Ashley said
“Ok, or I’ll call you. Whatever, who ever calls first.”
“Ok, bye.”
“Bye!” Sarah said and took off on her bike up to her house. Ashley ran threw the automatic sprinklers to the
house and ran down the hall to her room.
She closed the door and turned on her radio. Taking out her tickets she placed them in the night
stand by her bed. She closed the night stand and took out a green picture frame from under her bed. She
took out her autographed picture and for the first time, read it.
“Ashley, You’re a total sweet heart. Hope all your dreams come true and you have lost of fun at the concert..
Love always. Your friend, Christina Augilera.”
She smiled and opened the big frame, placing the picture of her, Sarah, and Christina, along with the
autographed picture inside. Closing it back up she set it on her shelf and then took out her journal, writing
everything down.
