INDEX
wager1576
On 20 JUL 1670, Samuel York purchased with his partner, James Thomas, a 600-acre tract of land (now called Topsham) from the Indians. During the King Phillips War, he abandoned it. Before 1680, he lived in Falmouth, NH, until it's distruction.20 NOV 1682 in an Indian attack, when he sold his half of a sawmill and fled to Gloucester.
There have been different dates for the marriage between Samuel York and Hannah (mostly 1667 or 1680), almost suggesting that there might have been two wives named Hannah. If Samuel was born in 1645, his marriage in 1680 would have made him 35 years old. One might imagine that he had a family from a 1667 marriage that could have been killed in the King Phillips War, in which Topsham was hit especially hard.
