"Mary Opp" may not be the correct name of Elder John's wife. Torrey gives "Sarah" as her name. She doesn't appear named in any official records of Rhode Island. Referred to by Samuel Hubbard, Ruth Burdick's father, as a "Sabbath Keeper", the first of that faith to die in the New World. Also referred to as a "Seventh Day Baptist. Burdick was a prominent Quaker.
