George, of Bristol, England. He came to New England about 1623/4 as a boy of 13. He was a partner of Isaac Allerton of Plymouth, and apparently his representative in New York. He was town clerk of Jamaica, Long Island. His surname was written Wolsy, Wolsi, Wiltsie, Wiltze, and Wollsey. Moved to Flushing in 1647, and to Jamaica in 1664. Fluent in both English and Dutch. Fire master of New Amsterdam, appointed by Governor Peter Stuyvesant. Buried in Oyster Bay, Nassau County, New York.
