David Dow was definitely a Tory and alive when his family was relocated to New Brunswick from Newburyport, Massachusetts. This relocation was probably between 1772 and 1785 and "Dow's Hill" at the mouth of the St. John's River in New Brunswick is said to be named after David's second daughter Hannah. The circumstances and date of her death are still a mystery.
