Chapter Three

After they finished shooting, things started to change. Ryan and Anna started to not see each other everyday and they started to grow apart. Ryan was feeling kinda jealous toward how close Anna was with Chris. It was then that Hollywood’s premiere couple had their first fight.

“WE ARE JUST FRIENDS!” Anna yelled.

“YOU GUYS ARE CLOSER THAN WE WERE FILMING!” Ryan yelled back.

“Whatever Ryan. I don’t care anymore.”

“Then maybe we shouldn’t see each other anymore.” Ryan replied. He walked out the door and slammed it, leaving a tiny fissure in the door. Anna grabbed the nearest thing and hurled it at the door. It shattered into a dozen pieces and Anna realized it was a vase Ryan had given her. As she carefully picked up the pieces, one cut her finger. She dropped the pieces she had picked up and slid down to the floor. She fought against the tears that threatened to overflow. Anna gave into them and tears streamed down her cheeks. Things had been so good between them. What had happened to the love they shared? What had happened to them?

Ryan punched the wall by the doorway in anger and frustration. Ok, maybe I overreacted, Ryan concluded. They probably are just friends. But Ryan still couldn’t believe that they were just friends.

“They’re just friends. That’s all they are.” Ryan thought for a moment.

“But we’re not a couple anymore.”

“Is there a reason you’re talking to yourself?” Ryan’s best friend Trent said as he entered the room.

“I had a fight with Anna over whether or not she was more than friends with Chris O’Donnell.” Trent laughed.

“Good going Romeo. Buy her chocolate, some flowers, and apologize profusely.”

“I don’t think any amount of apologizing will get me out of this situation.”

(Two weeks Later)

“You have to come Anna! You’re my best friend.” Anna looked at Reese tiredly. She had spent almost every night crying herself to sleep since her and Ryan had broken up.

“I don’t--” Reese glared at her.

“OK, I’ll come. I’ll see you later Reese.” Anna said, letting herself out. Reese added Anna and Ryan to her list. She wanted to meet the guy who held her best friends heart.

********************

Anna knew Reese would probably invite Ryan and try to get the two back together but it had been two weeks and not one word from Ryan. They had gone from Hollywood’s most famous couple to the world’s most famous breakup. From in love to out of love. Anna had seriously thought they were meant to be together. After all, he had been her first. Ok, I have two weeks to get over him, Anna thought. I can do it. But on the ride home, her heart was saying something else. She had a long way to go before she even remotely started getting over Ryan. Ronan Keating’s “When You Say Nothing At All” came on the radio and tears clouded her blue eyes as she remembered. (Flashback)

It’s amazing how you can speak right to my heart

Without saying a word, you can light up the dark

Try as I may I can never explain

what I hear when you don’t say a thing

“May I have this dance mademoiselle?”

The smile on your face lets me know that you need me

There’s a truth in your eyes saying you’ll never leave me

The touch of your hand says you’ll catch me whenever I fall

You say it best....when you say nothing at all

“Oui monsieur.” Anna said. Ryan took her hand and pulled her close. The beach dinner had gone perfectly and here they were, dancing under the stars. The night was magical, the dance was magical, the couple themselves were magical.

All day long I can hear people talking out loud

But when you hold me near, you drown out the crowd (the crowd)

Try as they may they can never define

What’s been said between your heart and mine

“I love you.” Ryan whispered in her ear.

“And I love you.” Anna whispered back.

The smile on your face lets me know that you need me

There’s a truth in your eyes saying you’ll never leave me

The touch of your hand says you’ll catch me whenever I fall

You say it best....when you say nothing at all.

The night was magical, and everything about the night was perfect. Both never wanted it to end. (End Flashback)

But all good things do come to an end, Anna thought, wiping away the tears. The night had come to an end, as did the couple. What Anna had thought was an everlasting love had come to an end too. Anna knew it was over. There was no chance of getting Ryan back.
