Chapter Seven

(One week Later)

“Meg, there’s a concert on the quad. You have to come!” Ava said impatiently. Meg sighed.

“Fine. Let’s go.” They arrived pretty early and managed to snag front row seats. Thanks to Ava, Taylor was also in the front row, several seats down. Also, thanks to her cousin, if her plan worked, Meg and Taylor would share their first kiss on stage.

“Who’s playing?” Ava smiled.

“You’re going to love me.” She paused for dramatic effect. “O Town.” For the first time that week, Meg smiled.

“Cool.” The sun started setting and O Town took the stage, opening up with their hit single “Liquid Dreams.” Meg danced along and even sang, having a generally good time. Then, the important song came on. They started singing All or Nothing.

I know when he’s been on your mind

That distant look is in your eyes

I thought with time you’d realize

It’s over, over

It’s not the way I choose to live

and somethin somewhere’s got to give

A share in this relationship

gets older, older

You know I’d fight for you

But how can I fight someone who isn’t even there

I’ve had the rest of you now I want the best of you

I don’t care if that’s not fair

Meg looked at Ava, tears shining in her green eyes as she realized just how true the song was.

‘Cause I want it all or nothing at all

There’s nowhere left to fall when you reach the bottom

it’s now or never

Is it all or are we just friends

is this how it ends with a simple telephone call

you leave me here with nothing at all

Taylor felt tears come to his own eyes as he realized what Ava was trying to do.

There are times it seems to me

I’m sharing you with memories

I feel it in my heart

but I don’t show it, show it

Ava motioned to Jacob and he pulled Meg up on stage while Ashley pulled Taylor on stage.

Then there's times you look at me

As though I’m all that you can see

Those times I don’t believe it’s right

I know it, I know it

“We have two very special guests on stage tonight. Please welcome Meg Weiss and Taylor Hanson! A loud cheer went up in the crowd as Meg and Taylor locked gazes.

Cause you and I

could lose it all if you’ve got no more room

inside for me in your life

O-Town stopped singing and handed Meg a microphone as well as Taylor.

“Do you have something to say Meg?” Ashley asked. Meg nodded, a lump in her throat.

“I lied to you Taylor, I was so afraid of betraying Blake’s memory that I was missing out on something wonderful. I meant every word I said. I love you Taylor Hanson.” Taylor smiled

“I love you too Megan Weiss.” Taylor got down on one knee and pulled out a ring. "Will you marry me?” Meg put a hand to her mouth in shock and the members of O-Town looked on expectantly.

“Of course. Taylor Hanson, I would love nothing more than to be your wife.” And their lips met in a kiss in front of a million screaming people and the members of O Town, sealing their engagement and ensuring they’d spend the rest of their lives together.
