Rae started playing guitar at age 12. Her passion for guitar playing continued through high school, where she honed her skills enough to get into Cornish College of the Arts. There she studied both jazz and classical guitar. And in 1988 she received her B.F.A. in Music from Cornish.

After a few personal changes and a name change to Talamasca. playing regularly around the Puget Sound Area. Rae's band released a CD on the Italian record label Mellow Records in 1994. While in Talamasca, Rae honed her instrumental, rhythm guitar skills as she wrote most all the guitar parts for the band. As well as writing and rhythm skills, Rae became an outstanding lead guitarist as she was the only full time guitarist in the band. Soon there after that the band broke up do to personality differences.

In 1992, While she was still with Talamsca, Rae was contacted by Brian Oates, a college buddy from Cornish. Brian and Rae started practicing classical guitar together and form the classical guitar duo, Four Hands Twelve Strings. They are still together and have been performing at weddings, corporate events and private parties ever since they met. Rae has also been playing professionally as a solo classical guitarist since graduating from Cornish College.

Since Talamasca broke up, Rae has been working on her singer-songwriting skills. She currenly has two CD projects in the works: one of hard core progressive rock, the other commercial pop rock.

In 1999 Rae took up the bass guitar to help her arranging and writing skills. She joined Janie Worm's back up band "The Early Birds." She is currently singer-songwriter, Janie Worm's Top choice of bass guitar players. In December of 2001 Rae recorded bass tracks for Janie's second solo CD.

In addition to performing, Rae is a private guitar instructor. She has been teaching since 1987. She teaches out of her North Seattle studio and at Mills Music in Bellevue. She averages a load of 10 to 15 students on a regular basis. Rae's expertice as both a professional classical guitarist and as an original singer-songwriter make her a very saught after teacher.
