In Pioneer Junior College, there is a team of devoted teachers who showed care and concern for the band. We would like to thank them in every way we can!






Ms Chan Peck Suan      

A music scholar of the Singapore Public Service Commission (PSC), Ms Chan Peck Suan graduated from Eastern Michigan University School of Music in the United States of America. She studied trumpet conducting under the baton of Professor Russell Reed. She attended St. Louis Conservatory of Music for two years and studied trumpet under Mr. Gary Smith.
Since her return to Singapore, she has been very active in the local music scene. She is one of the conductor who conducted the Singapore Youth Orchestra (SYO) in Shalom Ronly - Riklis Conducting Workshop and also guest conductor the Raffles Symphonic Orchestra (RSO) in1988. She was also invited to coach the wind section of the SYO and was selected to be the trumpet tutor of the ASEAN Youth Symphonic Orchestra workshop held in Singapore in 1992. In 1996, she was appointed the Resident Conductor of the Singapore Wind Symphony and Kim Seng Wind Symphony.






















In 1999, she conducted the Yuhua Secondary School Concert Band for the first Asian Symphonic Band Competition held in Bangkok, Thailand and won the first prize and His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadei Cup.
Currently, she is a trumpet tutor, a freelance musician and the conductor of Yuhua Secondary School Concert Band, River Valley High School Concert Band, Westwood Secondary Concert Band, Pioneer Junior College Symphonic Band and Singapore Polytechnic Band.










Mr Dennis Sim      
                         
Mr Dennis Sim aid and enlight our percussionists with care, patience and love. Being a percussion instructor, he not only taught them how to play, but also the theories behind them. He has a strong sense of belonging and devotion to our Symphonic Band.
