Ms Chan Peck Suan
A music scholar of the Singapore Public Service Commission (PSC), Ms Chan Peck Suan graduated from Eastern Michigan University School of Music in the United States of America. She studied trumpet conducting under the baton of Professor Russell Reed. She attended St. Louis Conservatory of Music for two years and studied trumpet under Mr. Gary Smith.
Since her return to Singapore, she has been very active in the local music scene. She is one of the conductor who conducted the Singapore Youth Orchestra (SYO) in Shalom Ronly - Riklis Conducting Workshop and also guest conductor the Raffles Symphonic Orchestra (RSO) in1988. She was also invited to coach the wind section of the SYO and was selected to be the trumpet tutor of the ASEAN Youth Symphonic Orchestra workshop held in Singapore in 1992. In 1996, she was appointed the Resident Conductor of the Singapore Wind Symphony and Kim Seng Wind Symphony. |
