NEWS AND UPDATES 06/13/04

NEWS FROM JASON! HE AND RICK ARE WORKING ON THE THIRD ALBUM! READ HIS POST FROM LIFEHOUSEFANS.COM BELOW:

Hey Everyone! Jun 12th, 2004

Just thought I’d check in and let you know what’s been going on with us the last six months. It’s been nice to have some time off, but we miss you all terribly. Most of you probably know that Serge and Sean have left the band—we were really sad to see them go. You all know that Serge and I go back ten years now, but I guess there comes a time in life when it is best to part ways. Musically, Serge and I have ventured in different directions; however, I am happy to say we are on good terms. I really wish the best for him in the future. Sean was also a vital part of the Lifehouse family, and it’s very difficult to see him go. Although I know how unfortunate it was that we had to part ways, I remind myself to look forward to the future.

As for Lifehouse, Rick and I will keep moving forward. We are currently looking for a new bass and guitar player. We recently survived a major transition of ownership of our record label. So, though our world has been turned upside down, we are currently making the third Lifehouse album. Rick and I are very excited about all the new songs.

Even though it seems like we’ve taken a lot of time off, I have been doing demos at my house non-stop with my best friend Ean Mering. We bought a cheap PC and do demos on ProTools using the MBOX.

In addition to doing demos for Lifehouse, I spent a large portion of the last several months producing a new artist, “Myster-E.” Myster-E is a rapper from Agoura Hills, CA. His music is a hybrid between hip-hop, pop rock, and funk. Ron Aniello (my producer on the last two albums) and I produced his record and are so excited about the outcome. We realize it’s going to be a lot of work breaking Myster-E to the public without the help of a record company; however, I think that Myster-E’s music is a completely new sound, something entirely different from what they are playing on the radio right now.

I would love for all of you to have a first chance at hearing Myster-E’s album, “Make Yourself Believe.” You can check it out on his website, www.mre-music.com. The site lets you preview his music, read about his history, and purchase his album. The album is not currently available in stores, so the only way to get it is to order it online. I’d love to hear what you think about his music via his website, or you can post your feedback on this forum.

In an interesting twist, Myster-E invited Serge to join his live band, which will start touring soon in Los Angeles (check his tour schedule for info). I’m happy that Serge is playing with Myster-E; it keeps him in the family.

In closing, both Rick and I want you all to know how much we appreciate you guys sticking with us and supporting us. Without you there would be no Lifehouse! We love you very much and will see you soon on our next tour!

Jason
