Band Bio

Echos Of Silence is a 4 piece band out of Glassboro, Washington Twp, and Aura, NJ. The band is made up of Ryan Kergides on Drums, John Menszak on Bass, Pete Larocco on Guitar and Back-Up Vocals, and Chris Gunning on Guitar and Lead Vocals.

Echos of Silence started out about 3 years ago as "Unknown Authority" with just Ryan and Chris in search of a bass player. About a year later John joined the line-up and the trio started writing some of their own songs and playing covers.

They changed their name to "Ready For Action" and began playing shows. But that didn't last too long. The day after their second show, Chris left for Florida and when he came back to good old Jersey, he told the band he was leaving. The tension was just too big and everything turned into fighting and it wasn't fun anymore.

After about 2 months or so of not speaking to each other, John and Chris became good friends again. John and Ryan started the band back up and wanted Chris to be in it too but Chris refused due to fear of what happened last time happening all over again.

High School started and Ryan met Pete Larocco who was a guitarist out looking for a band. Ryan introduced Pete to John and the 3 of them started jamming together. They formed Echos of Silence and were having a great time just doing what they loved...eating! Err... I mean playing music.

After many months of trying to get Chris back in the band, he finally said yes and joined the band again in December '03. Now the band was complete.

Echos of Silence is currently writing new material and re-writing old material from the "RFA" days as they have become to be known as. They are expecting many shows to be played in the upcoming months and plan to have a 4 song EP out sometime in Spring/Summer 2004.
