Late-Breaking Developments in the Field of ROBISONIA!
Volume Seven
From the Collection of MF
We don't have a complete (or even incomplete) track list for this one, but it consists of two segments:
1 - what "MF" calls "late songs," WR tunes demonstrated by him (p & v), a whole bunch of tunes I've never heard any place else. My guess would be that these are from the '40s, but who knows?
2 - Radio Material! Excerpts from two batches of broadcasts featuring WR and his Deep River Orchestra. Fascinating stuff!
a - misc "Deep River Hour" excerpts, 1932-1934.
b - "Deep River Hour" excerpt, 3/25/34.
Bonus Tracks - Three selections from the WILLIAM GRANT STILL COLLECTION
#20 - "American Bolero" (Nacio Herb Brown)
#21 - "Memphis Blues" (Handy) J R Europe's Hellcats, 1919
#22 - "World's Fair Periscope Music" - 1939

More WR coming soon:
* I want to organize as many of the p & v tracks as I can into a one or two disc subset that will hopefully be somewhat comprehensive. I still need to get a copy of that discography by Brian Boyd before I can do this, however!
* There are three '40s albums of 78s dedicated to WR, the Tony Pastor Cosmo collection (which is on our WR #3), the Capitol set with Johnny Mercer and others, and WR himself on Coral. The last of the three is already on our WR #6, but we just received (again from MF) the actual digital master of the Coral 10" LP! So I'll put all three of these on one cool CDR at some point.
