It's been so long since I've felt you
Trickling down my cheek and leaving
Your salt-water mark upon the page
Which I was writing.
Where did you go?
It's been so long since I've tasted
Your bittersweetness on my tongue,
The salt flavor overpowering me.
Where did you go?
It's been so long since I've brushed you away
Or forced you bac, hiding you

From the world which prefers happy people.
Where did you go?
It's been so long since I've seen you
When I glanced into the mirror, not seeing
My eyes glistening by candle light,
Your beautiful lines on my cheeks.
Where did you go?
It's been so long since I've cried.
