Patrick was a City Marshal.

[1850 Census of Franklin County, FL shows  living in this household #86 is Wm.Cullen, a 22 year old male, from Ireland, occupation 'clerk'] 

Patrick married Aug. 24, 1843 in Apalachicola, FL, as recorded in the Family Bible:

[Burial records of Trinity Church in Apalachicola notes date of death as July 27. Apalachicola Times Newspaper, dated Saturday, July 29, states that she died on Wednesday and was buried on Thursday, which would have put her death date as Wed. July 26 and burial on Thursday, July 27]

According to a letter written, apparently after 1916, by an unnamed relative of the family, (Italics are my notations) ..."Sarah Brainard came from Haddam or New Haven Conn. to Apalachicola Fla. to visit her sister Mrs. Hancock.  Never went back to Conn.  Met William (she meant 'Patrick')  White Cullen and they married.  They had two children, William and Sarah.  Sarah died.  William married Hester Recious Fuller, they had five children, Ruth Eugenia, William White (Family Bible records William Frederick), Edgar Boyce, Brainard Fuller and Mary Pearl.   Sarah Brainard Cullen had several sisters, all lived to a ripe old age in their ninties (this was not the case).  Two of her nieces came to visit her, Jennie Bartholomew and Emma Noyers.  Back to William (she meant 'Patrick') Cullen he came from Seligo Ireland, the name of his home was Castle Car."

Sarah taught a private school in Apalachicola for a number of years.

Sarah and Patrick had two children:

(I)--Sarah J. Cullen - (born Dec. 3, 1846 - died January  15, 1885, Apalachicola, Franklin Co., FL, age 38 years old) - note from Trinity church records,1884-1885, by the Rev. C. A. Apple,  "1895 - Jan. ...Sarah Cullen buried in absence of Rector - Mr. Browne. (Methodist,) reading Burial Office."

William White Cullen..........(son of Patrick White Cullen and Sarah Brainard
Born April 1, 1849 in Apalachicola, Franklin Co., FL
Baptized M. E. C. South at Apa.
Died June 30, 1910 in Apalachicola, Franklin Co., FL

William was a Lighthouse Keeper from Jan. 26, 1888 until 1910, with the Station being discontinued.  He was a Keeper in Apalachicola Bay Range Rear and was paid $400 a year.
