A Christmas Poem

by Karisa Werdon

May your stockings be heavy with presents

May your spirit be light with good cheer

May the joys of the season bring plenty

of reason to celebrate all through the year!

1st vs (C) Hallmark

Karisa is inspired by the above poem

that is inside a Hallmark card.  Karisa writes...

May your figure be slim as a beanpole

though you don all your wintery gear

When you drive with your spouse out to

Grandmother's house, please be sure to watch out

for the deer

May your table be spread with the best foods

and your refrigerator stocked with much beer

though the raucous divulsions from your drunken expulsions

may fill your children with fear.

The Season will be filled with gladness

if only you'll lend me an ear

Enjoy lots of dinner, without feeling a sinner

and ignore added pounds to you rear

May the joyous Christmas music

which I'm sure that you're destined to hear

faintly ooze from your pores, as you rush through the stores

resounding that Christmas is near

As I continue along with this poem

it's becoming exceedingly clear

if I decline to stop, someone is likely to chop

off my head with a very sharp spear

In you festive Christmas outfits

Glorious you will appear

But if you run through the groves without any clothes

the boys will be certain to cheer.
