Adam Lee Rosol's
Eighth Month
September 13-October 12 1999

Adam is enjoying the company of his parents and other babies, he likes the outdoors, and he took a trip to the Tweetsie Railroad, a family amusement park suitable for infants.

The big news this month are teeth. Adam gave mommy a birthday present by getting his first tooth on her birthday, 10/4, and then three more in the next five days. He's now a 4 toothed baby!

Another big step this month is that Adam learned to sit up on his own. He can sit up from his belly or his back. A big step that means that crawling will happen soon.

Here's some pictures of him during the Eighth month

backpack

" Giddyap, Daddy! Giddyap " Daddy and Adam go for a stroll in Jetton Park, on Lake Norman about 5 miles from our home. This is a nice park with a good baby playground, paved hiking trails (suitable for strollers), and lots of lake views and access. By the end of the hike, Daddy was wondering if Adam could carry him for a while.

park swing

" I'm a swinger in the park! " Here's little Adam in the baby swing at the park.

backpack

" It's a nice day in the park. I wonder if I should start crying now? " Another picture from our day at Jetton Park. Here, we're taking a break, and watching Adam and the peaceful lake

train 1

" You know, trains are noisy and dirty. I think I like them " Mommy and Adam are watching the steam train at the Tweetsie Railroad. This is an authenthic coal burner, too authenthic judging from the hot cinders falling all around us.

train 2

" Yep, it is interesting " A slightly different view of the train.

trainride

"OK, we can ride the train, but I get to sit on the side with the indians." We took a train ride on this steam train, Adam liked it until we were held up by bandits. The shooting was a little too much for his 7 month old ears, and he cried a little.

pumpkin boy

" Boo! I am so scary!" Daddy held up Adam so that he could be a scary halloween monster. This is still at the Tweetsie Railroad.

gymboree1.jpg

" Hey Warden, I'm innocent! Get me out of this jail " Every Thursday, Adam goes to Gymboree where he attends classes with other kids of about his age. Here, he's at Gymboree, standing and holding himself against a crib railing.

Parachute time

" It's parachute time! I like parachute time! " Another Gymboree picture, near the end of the session, all the kids sit on a big parachute and play with toys while the moms discuss parenting issues, then the kids get a ride on the parachute!

Superbaby

" OH OH! This looks like a job for Superbaby! " More from Gymboree. Here, the kids are done with their parachute ride, and Adam is looking around to see what's going to happen next. Got to love that Superbaby outfit!

Secret mommy

" I love to get gifts in the mail! " Carol regularly visits a web site for mothers who had children born in February of 1999. The mothers regularly have a "secret mommy" event where they buy gifts for a baby other than their own. Here, Adam is looking at his cool sweat suit and stackable man toy (SO much fun to knock down!) that his secret mommy sent him

Mommy's Birthday

" It was fun helping you open your presents, mommy! " Adam had his usual fun helping his mom open her birtday gifts. He just loves tearing into wrapping paper.

Hot Tubbing

" I've always loved baths, but it's so much more fun when Mommy and Daddy are in here with me! " We went to Pittsburgh for the Columbus Day weekend, and stayed with Carol's Uncle Skip and Aunt Madeline. They have this hot tub in a solarium that Adam just loved. Mom and dad didn't mind it too much either!
