Chapter 3

Ding-Dong!

"Could somebody get that?", I yelled from upstairs.

Ding-Dong!

"Can't anybody do anything around here?" I mumbled to myself as I ran downstairs while pulling a brush through my wet hair.

When I went through the kitchen, there was a note on the table...

Jilly,

We went out for a while. Justin and Chrissy are still out with Jordan. Everyone else went to the movies.

Be back later,

Love, Mom and Dad

"Don't worry, I didn't want to eat supper anyway," I said sarcastically.

Ding-Dong!

"I'm coming", I said walking tothe door.

I looked out the peephole to see the person starting to walk away. "Wait" I yelled opening the door.

The person turned around and I gasped when I saw who it was. JC stood staring at me from down the sidewalk. After an extremely uncomfortable silence, JC held out his arms. I walked to him and he wrapped his arms around me. It felt so good to be so close to him again. I didn't want to let go but JC pulled away. "I missed you".

"I missed you too."

"You look great," he said softly.

"No, I don't... my hairs all wet and everything..." I tried to explain.

"It's ok, you still look great", he said

I blushed, why did I suddenly feel like a giddy teenager. "You want to come in and talk?"

"Sure", he said.

We walked in and sat down on the sofa. We basically just caught up on each others lives. When the conversation started to slow down I said, "JC, I have something to tell you".

"What?", he asked.

"Remember before I left and we were together and everthing was great and then I had to go and..." OK, Jillian, I said to myself, you're not making sense, just get it out. "I have a baby, JC, and she's yours."

He looked at me stunned, his mouth was hanging open.

"Please say something", I begged.

"I have a child?", he asked, still stunned.

I don't think the reality had actually hit him yet. "A daughter, her names is Jordan", I said solfly.

"Where is she?", he asked.

"She's with Justin and Chrissy", told him.

There was another uncomfortable silence, then JC said, "so that's why you left?"

"Yes. I didn't want anyone to know because I had always been the good girl and I didn't want peole to look at me differently. I was ashamed, I guess."

"Why be ashamed? You and I brought a life into the world together... but I don't understand why you didn't tell me", he said.

"I didn't want you to hate me, so I was afraid to tell you. I thought the best thing for me to do was run away. I was wrong." I admitted.

JC just looked at me, then looked at his watch, "I've gotta go...but I want to see her."

"OK. She'll be here tomorrow if you wanna come back."

"OK, Bye". He stood up and kissed me on the forehead, then left.

"I love you", I whispered softly, so that he couldn't hear me.

After he closed the door, I sighed loudly.

Maybe coming back wasn't such a good idea after all.
