Aslan

Aslan is a trio originally formed in September of 1998. The original lineup was: Josh Neas - vox, guitar; Kevin Wright - bass; Brad Stuckey - guitar; B.J. Moore - drums. Aslan performed their first show at A-Ron Goodman Fest IV in November of 1998. Later that winter, B.J. moved back to North Dakota. At this point Brad moved from guitar back to drums and the band became the trio that it is now.

Aslan's music is mainly written by Josh (he writes the lyrics and the guitar riffs). Afterwards, Kevin adds in his often melodic bass lines to balance the act, and finally it's all topped off with Brad's rhythms. With a style that is parts Replacements, Bad Religion, Wire, Toad the Wet Sprocket, and Helmet, Aslan powers their way through songs with the might and calm of their namesake.

Aslan's setlist is currently 8 songs long and includes:

1) Race Riot

2) Sufferage

3) Die Hard

4) James

5) Fear to Tread

6) Fall Down*

7) Tone

8) 12XU*

* = a cover song. "Fall Down" is originally by Toad the Wet Sprocket and "12XU" is originally by Wire.

You might recognize the songs "James" and "Tone" from the Josh Neas page. These songs also appear on Josh's two solo recordings. Aslan's versions are louder and more agressive though; especially their version of "James."

At this point in time there are no Aslan recordings, and it doesn't look like there ever will be. Unfortunately, Aslan's members may be permenently seperated, due to summer school and such. All they will have is the legacy. *sniff* Heh.
