(2) Develop teletypewriter repair workshop cleaning techniques. (3) Develop skill and apply proper procedures in dismounting, inspecting, and cleaning electrical/electronic equipment common to teletypewriter repair process. (4) Develop skills in use of shop safety practices as outlined in established shop procedures pertaining to high voltage and precautions necessary in teletypewriter repair. | 500 |
B | Install Teletypewriter Equipment Using Required Tools and Equipment-- Install teletypewriter sets, teletypewriter reperforator, distributor-transmitter set, low-level signaling devices, and other equipment in permanent facilities, semi-permanent, mobile van, or stationary shelter using proper tools and equipment, following prescribed specifications, safety practices, and interconnecting components. | 300 |
C | Performance Preventative Maintenance on Teletypewriter Equipment-- Perform preventive maintenance on electrical, mechanical, and test equipment to include fungi-proofing or waterproofing and dust control using proper tools conforming to safety practices and following prescribed procedures. | 2000 |
D | Obtain Proficiency in Troubleshooting Electrical, Mechanical, and Electronic Teletypewriter Equipment using Standard Test Equipment using Standard Test Equipment as follows:-- Multimeter, Oscilloscope, Power Supply, Teletypewriter test sets, Electron tube test sets, Other test equipment as necessary. | 2100 |

Special Instructions: Work processes completed in a state or federally recognized apprenticeship program will be accepted upon presentation of proper documentation to the appropriate service school.
A total of 576 hours of related instruction is required in order to complete this program. Related instruction credit may be awarded individuals registered in the trade of Automatic Equipment Technician taken from an accredited institution, providing the courses are similar to the courses taken for a Automatic Equipment Technician program in a community college/vocational school.
