A Tools-- (1) Learn names of tools. (2) Learn care of and safety with hand, measuring, power and precision tools. (3) Operation of power tools: (a) Drill press; (b) Pedestal grinder (Flat grinding, angular grinding); (c) Pipe threading machine (Pipe and bolt threading); (d) Lathe (Straight and taper turning, knurling, drilling, tapping, boring, reaming; (e) Milling machine (Set up, end and slab milling, woodruff keyways, indexing. 420
B General Maintenance-- (1) Move and dismantle equipment; load test lifting devices. (2) Level, align, and assemble equipment. (3) Diagnose mechanical difficulties in Diesel engines, Gas turbines, Steam Turbines, Heating/air conditioning equipment, Air compressors, Machine shop equipment, Pumps, Heat Exchangers. (4) Replace worn or broken parts. (5) Fit bearings (6) Welding (Oxygen-acetylene, metallic arc, tungsten inert gas. 1500
C Pipe Cutting (Using both hand and power tools)-- (1) Pipe sizing and measuring. (2) Pipe cutting and threading techniques. 600

Schedule of Related Instruction for the Trade of

Power House Electrician/Repairer

AIMS Symbol: 0166

A total of 576 hours of related instruction is required in order to complete this program. Related instruction credit may be awarded individuals registered in the trade of Power House Electrician/Repairer taken from an accredited institution, providing the courses are similar to the courses taken for a Power House Electrician/Repairer program in a community college/vocational school.
