![]() ![]() I created this site to add to what I feel is a sad paucity of web sites dealing with homeschooling preschool aged children. While there are lots of sites for preschool teachers, they all seem to be geared toward large class sizes and group learning rather than one-on-one teaching. Please note that from here on out the site has not been updated since I created it in 1999. Some links may be broken, and my son is obviously older now! But I have used this same course of study with my daughter, and intend to do so with my younger two sons as well, so I still vouch for it! (Jan. 2004) Site Contents

![]() Here are some books that I recommend. I am currently using the Teach
Your Child to Read in 100 Easy Lessons for my son. Before that I also used
the Ready to Read book for a while.
The Montessori book is an especially good one for very young children. It
gives specific instructions for teaching and modeling and for making your own materials. It covers household chores, reading
readiness and math concepts. It also describes what exactly the
Montessori method of teaching is for those who are not already familiar with it. You do not need to totally agree with the
philosophy to get alot from this book. The other books are ones that I read to my son, a
couple I have even memorized I've read them so many times! I've only included books which are useful for teaching as well
as providing enjoyable read-aloud time. For a very comprehensive list of excellent children's story books see the
