The dance was at 7:00, and it was quarter of. It was a semi-formal event. Lysa and Francesca walked to the lodge where it was being held, and soon saw Nick, AJ and their friends standing outside. Lysa was wearing a short black skirt and a red spaghetti strap tank top, her straight black hair, just hitting her shoulders. Francesca was wearing a short, blue tank dress, and her hair was up in a bun, with tendrils falling down, framing her face. "Hey!" AJ shouted as he walked over to Lysa. "Hi AJ." She replied as they interlocked arms and went inside. "Hi Fran. You look great." Nick said, slowly walking over to her. "Thanks Nick…so do you" She replied. "Thanks." he said, as they walked into the dance. The song that was playing was "Ray of Light" by Madonna, and they soon spotted AJ and Lysa dancing. "Whoa, look at those party animals." Nick joked. "Yea, Lysa loves to dance." Francesca replied. "What about you?" Nick asked as the DJ changed the song to a slow song. "Yea, I do too." She said smiling. Nick took her hand and led her to an empty spot on the dance floor.
AJ and Lysa decided to sit this one out. "Hey, we’ll get the next slow one… I need a drink." AJ said taking Lysa’s hand and leading her to the punch bowl. "Ok." She replied. They stood on the side of the dance floor and talked for a little. "They seem to like each other, huh?" AJ asked when he saw Nick and Francesca dancing together. "Sure looks like it." Lysa replied with a smile. The song was soon over and Nick and Francesca went and sat down as AJ and Lysa went back out on the floor.
After about an hour, AJ and Lysa went for a walk down to the lake. "You are a very good dancer." Lysa complemented. "Thanks, so are you." He replied. "Thank you." Lysa replied as they sat down at a picnic table. After a few minutes of talking, AJ couldn’t hold back anymore, he leaned over and gave Lysa a kiss. When they pulled away, Lysa smiled. "Sorry, I couldn’t hold it in any longer." AJ said. "Don’t apologize, I liked it." Lysa replied. "Ok." AJ said, then he kissed her again. After awhile they headed back to the dance.
At the end of the dance, Nick and AJ walked Francesca and Lysa back to their bunk house "I had a great time tonight." AJ said, holding Lysa’s hand. "Me too." She said smiling. "Well, I’ll see ya tomorrow." AJ said as he gave Lysa a kiss. "See ya then." She replied as she went into the house. Nick and Francesca were sitting on a bench outside of the bunkhouse. "That was the best dance I have been to." Francesca told him. "Yea.. me too." He said looking into Francesca’s deep brown eyes. "Hey.. meet me at the lake in five minutes." Nick said quietly. "What?" Francesca asked. "Sneak out and meet me at the rock where we met." Nick explained. "Ok." She replied. "See ya then." Nick said, getting up to leave. "K, see ya." Francesca said as she ran inside. "So.. how was your night?" Lysa asked. "Can’t talk now, I gotta get changed." Francesca said hurrying around trying to find something to wear. "What? Why?" Lysa asked. "I have to meet Nick at the lake." She explained. "Ooh, sneaking out!" Lysa said smiling. "Yea… cover for me if someone comes in… will ya?" Francesca asked. "Yea, sure… that’s what friends are for." Lysa said. "Thanks, I owe ya one." Francesca said as she was going out the door. "Have fun." Lysa said. "Thanks, I will." Francesca said as she ran down the path towards the lake.
When Francesca got there Nick was sitting on the rock with his feet dangling in the water. She walked over to him and stood beside him, "Hey Nick." She said. "Hi." He said, getting down from the rock. He took her hand, and led her to the swing. Nick got in first sitting with his feet over the lake. "C’mon, sit on my lap." Nick said to Francesca. "Alright." She said as she got on him, sitting in the opposite direction so she could face him. "So… what state are you from?" Nick asked, hoping that she’d say Hawaii. "Washington." She said. "DC?" he asked. "No, Washington State. What about you?" She asked. "Hawaii." He replied. "Wow! I’d love to live in Hawaii. It’s always raining in Seattle." She said. "Well, you’ll just have to come visit me sometime." Nick said smiling. "Ok, I will." She said, smiling back. After a few minutes of talking, Nick pushed Francesca into the lake. She was under the water for a few seconds, and Nick was looking around to see if she had come up. Then all of a sudden Francesca came up, and grabbed Nick’s shoulders, pulling him in too. "Hey!" Nick said. "You deserved it." She said laughing. "Yea… I guess you are right." Nick said as he swam closer to her. Francesca ducked under the water and Nick followed. They were staring at each other for a few seconds, then kissed. They came up, "I’ve always wanted to do that." Nick said. "Me too." She said smiling. "Let’s get out, it’s getting cold." Nick said as he started swimming to the shore. "Um.. .Nick, I have a problem." Francesca said. "What is it?" he asked. "Um… well…. I’m wearing a white T-shirt… and kinda nothing underneath." She admitted. "That’s why I pushed you in." he admitted with a grin. When Francesca got out of the water, Nick sat her down in the grass and kissed her. After a little while they decided to head back. "Well, I’ll see you tomorrow." Francesca said, getting one last kiss from him. "Yup, see ya then." Nick said, walking back towards his bunk.
