Shadow Medallion

Now's your time to hang out. Go get some more poes or do some more of your Biggoron Sword mission. After awhile though, Navi will again begin nagging you. She'll say that you need to go find someone who might know something about the other sages. Well, Navi isn't being as obvious as usual, so listen to ME. Go to the Kakariko Village. Once you get there, you'll see that a fire has started in the town! As you look over it, you spot Sheik looking anxiously at the well. As you run to him, he'll warn you to get back. Suddenly, the wood over the well flies off. Then an invisible something will attack Sheik and throw him around. As you run to Sheik, the thing becomes visible; it's a blue and purple scrambled mass and it glides around the town. You ready yourself to fight... and it beats you up. *sigh* When you wake up, Sheik will be standing over you. It has started raining and the fire is going out. Shiek explains to you what happened. A long time ago, Impa had sealed this monster in the bottom of the well, but it grew stronger, broke the seal, and is now out in the world! Ack! Sheik says that Impa went to the Shadow Temple to seal it again, but that she needs help... Wait a second, Impa went to deal with the MONSTER in the TEMPLE? She must be a sage too! Sheik will show you the Nocturne of Shadow, which will tranport you to the Shadow Medallion platform. The platform is in the back of the graveyard; ohhh, so THAT's what's up there. Anyway, go down the steps and you'll see a little platfrom in the middle of a bunch of torches. Light the torches however you want, but I find the easiest way is to stand on the platform and use Din's Fire. Anyway, after all the torches are lit, a door will open. Go in there and you'll be in the Shadow Temple! (A scary place, lemme tell ya.)

Go forward down the corridor and turn right. Longshot across the hole. When you try to go forward, you can't, but a little message pops up. "Only those who hold the eye of truth handed down by the Kakariko may go beyond this point." Eye of truth? Heh, if you thought you were well on your way to get through this temple, you thought wrong. Longshot back across the hole and exit the temple.

By the way, if you planted a magic bean in the graveyard when you were a child, there's another little floaty plant there now. Hop on and it will elevate you up to the ledge. On the ledge is a crate containing a piece of heart! Now, play the Prelude of Light and transport back to the Temple of Time.

To get this "eye of truth", you need to be a child. So drop your sword back into the pedastal. Whoa, so now you're a kid again. Only in a video game. >:) Anyway, remember you'll only have the weapons you got as a child. Now head back to the Kakariko.

When you get to the Kakariko, go into the Windmill. Remember the little freaky guy with his music box? How he said some little kid played this song and totally drained the well. Hmm.... DUH, you're the kid! Go up to the dude and play the Song of Storms. This will make the windmill go really fast, thus draining the well. Go outside and hop into the well. The blockage that was there when you're an adult is gone, so go on in... to the bottom of the well. (Also an excessively creepy place. What I want to know is who built this freakin area!?!?!?)

You first come to a little hole in the wall, crawl through, then go down the ladder. Go through the corridor killing the skulltula. After the skulltula, it looks as if it's a dead end, but Navi's pointing at some bones. Well, first of all, EW! Second, you might as well see what Navi wants. Z Target it and listen to Navi. She says, "I can hear the spirits whispering in this room... 'Look for the eye of truth...', that's what they're saying!" Um..okay, we were going to... ANYWAY, wanna see something really cool? Try running into the wall. You won't hurt yourself, instead you'll run through it! It was a fake wall! Nifty! This whole area goes in a circle, but it's super tricky because it has a bunch of fake walls, like the one you just went through. Just keep what's in front of you in mind: a T shaped hole. So if you need to get out from under the well, look for that and you'll know what hole to go in. And to make it easier on your part and mine, I'm not going to include the little treasures beyond the fake walls. Once you get the "eye of truth", you can use those and see which walls are fake and if you want to go through all that, you can. So, let's get started. First, go to the other side of the little stream to the pile of dirt to the left. Put a bomb on it; when it blows up, the dirt will get blown away revealing a hole. Jump in and you'll find a treasure chest. Inside are 10 bombchus! It's a bomb that's shaped like a mouse. When you set it down, it'll go straight and if it runs into a wall, it just crawls up the wall. Pretty cool, huh? Crawl back out and follow the stream right. At some point, you'll be able to turn left into a little pool, but there's a fence in the way. Dive underwater and swim through the hole, then climb out. Go through the door and you'll be in a room with a bunch of coffins and a mummylike dude called a Gibdo. You can freeze the mummy like the redeads by playing Sun's Song. Notice the middle coffin to the right has a heart in it. Also notice there are a bunch of unlit torches around the room. Stand in the center of the room and use Din's Fire. Then all of the coffins will abruptly open. And if you're like me, you'll be freaking out by the time they're all open because inside is another Gibdo and a whole buttload of keese! Be careful when deafeating the keese because some of them will fly through the torches and become fire keeese. And remember, you're a kid with, so if you have a Deku shield, that can catch on fire. Once everyone is dead (except you, hopefully), look around in the coffins. There should be another heart and a key! Now exit the room and swim under the fence and get back to the stream. Keep going forward avoiding a HUGE Green Bubble and a skulltula that falls from the ceiling. When you come to a wall, turn left. The floor will be a fake and you fall through. Down here are some plants with goodies in them so stock up if you need. When you come to some rocks, blow them away with a bomb then play Sun's Song. There will be a Redead all crouched down waiting to jump up and attack you. Now that it's frozen, you can just slash away at it and kill it. Look around and you'll see some silver rupees. Collect them avoiding the slime pit. Then go down the hall with the torches. Blow the boulders away then play Sun's Song again because again a Redead will be there. Once he's dead, keep going forward and you'll see a big chest. Inside is a map! Go back to the main area and go up the ladder between the blue fire torches. Then climb up the taller one. Once you get to the top, get the last silver rupee and the door will unbar. Go through it and you'll be in a room with a bunch of pots and another set of bones to which Navi points. Well, since the bones lying against the other wall was a fake wall, I think it's safe to say that this one is fake too. Well, it's not, but the wall opposite that one is! Go through it and you'll be in the main room again with the stream. In fact, if you go forward, you'll be by the entrance! So go back they way you went before but instead of turning left, go right. Soon you'll come across a Triforce symbol on the ground in front of a face on the wall with water coming out it's mouth. Play Zelda's Lullaby while standing on the Triforce symbol and the water will stop flowing and the stream will drain. Once all the water's gone, keep going forward and you'll come to a hole in the wall. Crawl through and you'll come to a locked door. Use your key to open it and go through. In the next room are some fire keese and a Beamo. Kill the eye guy first then work on the fire keese. Do not go into the middle of the room! The floor is a fake and you'll fall through! If you do fall through, just find the long ladder like before. Anyway, once all the critters are gone, walk against the left wall to the tresure chest. Inside is a Deku Shield! Walk back along the wall and out the door and crawl back through the hole. Go left then right and you'll be back where you started except now the waters gone from the pool. Hop in and you'll see a tresure chest and a hole. Open the tresure chest and get the bombs then crawl through the hole to the next room. Kill the Skulltula that will fall down, climb up the vines, then go through the door. In this room, there are four really long arm things sticking out from the ground. If you get too close, they'll grab you; but you need tem to grab you for the main dude to appear. He's called Dead Hand although HE doesn't look like a hand. Anyway, get rid of the freak. Z Target his head and when he gets close, he'll lower his head so you can slash him in the face! After a little of this beating, he'll go back into the ground. So get grabbed by another hand and he'll come back up so you can repeat the process. Once he's dead, the door will unlock itself and a big chest will appear. Inside is the Lens of Truth! This is the Eye of Truth! You can use it to see fake walls and now you can get into the Shadow Temple!! (Just be careful because it takes from your magic meter when you use it.) Look around under the well and you'll find many hidden walls with different treasures.

Once you're done, go back to the Temple of Time and go back to being an adult. Warp back to the Graveyard then relight the torches if you need. Go through the door and enter the Shadow Temple.

Longshot across the hole then go through the wall with the face on it. In this first room, there are several other walls with faces, but you must use your Lens of Truth to see which one you can walk through. Find it, walk through it, then go through the door. Now you'll be in another area with some fake walls. Go to the right and use your Lens of Truth to find the fake wall. Walk through it then through the door. In this room is a Redead! Freeze him with Sun's Song then chop him to pieces, then kill the keese. A big chest will appear when they're dead. Inside is the map! Head back out the door and through the wall. Go right and find the two jars. The wall between them is a fake. Walk through it then the one across and you'll be in a similar room. Using your Lens, find another fake wall to the right. When you find the fake wall, walk through it then through the door. In this room is Mr. Hand Dude again except now he's got 6 hands stickin up from the ground! It doesn't matter, you still defeat him the same way. So kill him, then another big chest will appear. Inside are Hover Boots! These babies will help you float if you run of the edge! Sweet! So, get out of this room and back to the first room. Look at the big bird statue; get close and it'll tell you to point it to the real skull. Around him are little skull torches. (Pretty morbid.) Using the Lens, find the real one and point the statue to it. This opens the gate across the huge hole. Speaking of huge hole, time to try out your new shoes! Put the hover boots on and line yourself up with the door across the way. Back yourself up and run! You'll start floating across the air! Nifty!! Once you're on the other side, take the boots off, go through the gate and down the corridor. Soon, you'll come to a circular room with a Beamos (aka, Laser Eye Dude)! Kill him with a couple of bombs then head to the left. The supposed wall is a fake! Go through it and through the door. In this room is a big blade thing like that in the Ice Caverns. Avoiding this, collect all the silver rupees. This will open a gate with a treasure chest inside. Inside the treasure chest is a key! Now head back out to the other room with the Beamos. But be careful! The Beamos is back from the dead. LoL, you have to keep killing it when you leave and enter the room again. Anyway, when he's gone, go to the wall across from you. Yes, this too is a fake wall. Go through it and through the door into the next room. In here are two Gibdos (mummy dudes)!! Kill them like you would a Redead. When they're dead, yet another big chest will appear, this one containing the compass! Go back into the circular, and blow the Beamos to smithereens. After that, look at the wall to your right. This one is an actual wall, but can get blown away with a bomb; so bomb it! When the wall is gone, you'll see a locked door; but already have the key, so just go on through. Go down the corridor looking for the shadow of skulltulas that are hiding in the ceiling. If you see it, or run into one, just longshot them to death. Watch out because if you're running, you'll soon come across some gullotines. You can easily avoid injury if you have patience. When you come to a big room, put your hover boots on. You'll have to run with these across some gullotines. Fun fun. When you get to a big square platform, take your hover boots off because you'll have to fight a Stalfos. He's pretty easy though. If you get in the right position, he'll just fall off the edge to get away from you. LoL Once he's gone, look to your left with the lens. You'll see some invisible platforms that lead to a door. If you need arrows, you can go in there but otherwise, don't bother; it's not worth the trouble. Then, look to the right from the square platform. You'll see another platform that goes up and down. When it's down, put on your hover boots and jump to it. Then, when the platform's up, jump off. When you land, take your boots off. Watch out because there's a Beamos and two spikey metal things. Kill the Beamos, then carefully collect all the silver rupees. When you have all the silver rupees, a gate will open. Go down the corridor and you'll come to a large room with big spikey things that slam into the ground. They'll make you into Swiss cheese if you try to just run through. The sign to the left will give you a clue. Look at the wall at the right with the Lens. Invisible to the naked eye, there's a block that you can pull out of the wall and push under the spikes so they won't fall down on you. So use that as protection and push and pull as needed. Once you get to the end, jump on the ledge then jump on the block, then to the roof of the jail cells to your left. Then get on top of the "raining nails" and jump to the other side. There's a tresure chest there. Open it and get the stuff inside. You can get the other treasures in this room if you want, but they're not necessary. Once you're done, push and pull the block to get back out of the room. Go back to the platform with the spinning spikes. Look across the room and you'll see a door through the mist. Take out the Lens and you'll see how to get there. There are invisible islands by the gullotine. Once you get to the door, unlock it and enter. In the next room appears to be largely empty with the exception of some silver rupees. Don't be fooled; take out your Lens of Truth and you'll see that there are spikes on the floor. Also, beware of the two Redeads! Once you kill both of them, a small treasure chest will appear, but it's only a blue rupee. Then get the silver rupees. Some are easy to get but some of them you have to use the Lens to find targets you can longshot at to get. And some you'll need hover boots for when you jump off of invisible platforms. Once you get all the silver rupees, a door will unlock itself. Go in and you'll be in a room with a big skull. (Ewwwww.) Go to the side and climb up the steps. On the above level are some Keese hanging on the wall. Kill those and kill the Fire Keese flying around. Once they're all dead, the barred door will become unbarred, but don't go through it yet. Throw a nearby bomb flower into the flaming skull. (LoL) When the bomb explodes, so will the skull and out pops a key. Now you can go through the door. Now you're back in the room with the invisible spikes. Go to the middle of the room, and look at the seemingly unreachable door. But there's an invisble target on the ceiling above the platform. So longshot for it, unlock the door, and go into the room. Behind the door is a corridor with some sliding spike things and also a big fan. Here's what you do: put on your iron boots to contradict with the fan then go to the left. Keep walking with the iron boots, but watch out for a skulltula in the ceiling. Around the next turn is tricky. Wait till the fan dies down then quickly put your hover boots on and glide across the hole, then quickly jump off the ledge below the fan. Then put your iron boots on AGAIN. In this room, it's a little tricky, there are fans to the side of you! Get by the last fan and wait till it goes really fast them put your hover boots on. No, it's not suicide. There's an invisible door in the wall. Once you're safe on the other side, you can put your regular boots on. (There is a door at the far end of the fan room, but there's just a fairy in there. To get it, play the Sun's Song. Also beware of the fire that comes out of the eye above the door.) Then go through the door. In this room are some sliding spikes and two mummy dudes. Kill the mummy dudes and a chest will appear, but it's only a blue rupee. In one of the corners is a pile of dirt. Blow up the dirt with a bomb and there's a treasure chest. Inside is a key! Now go unlock the locked door in the room. Now you're in this huge room with a big boat thing floating on the air. Weird weird things. Grab the block to the left and push it all the way to the other wall. Then climb on the block and up the ladder. Then jump on the boat, stand on the Triforce symbol and play Zelda's Lullaby. Suddenly, bells start ringing, and the boat starts moving. Be afraid, be very afraid. LoL, okay don't be afraid, cause God has not given us a spirit of fear!! Anyway, as the boat moves along, Stalfos fall from the ceiling. Sometimes there's one, sometimes there's two, who knows! Fight them and at some point Navi will freak out and will be like, "Link! The boat's sinking! Abandon ship!" It's a good thing she warns us, I was still fighting and I would have gone down with the ship. When she warns you, jump off to the left. Across the way, you see another platform, but can't reach it. To the right is a door, go through it. THIS room is a bit odd. It's a maze, but this time you need the Lens of Truth to SEE the walls. As you navigate yourself through it, you'll encounter "Floormasters". I do not like these things!! They're hands that walk around on the ground. You whack at it, but instead of it dying, it'll break into little hands, then you have to kill those! If you don't kill the little hands in time, they'll turn into a big hand again. Very annoying. Keep walking and you'll come to a door in the corner. In one room is an invisible Floormaster. (JUST LOVELY!! >_<) You'll know the Floormaster is completely dead when the door unlocks and a chest appears. In another room, is a platform of rotating skulls. (Well, this just keeps getting better and better, doesn't it?) But this rooms not necessary, so you can skip it if you'd like. (It's very similar to a room you entered before. This time, just throw a bomb the flaming skulls. When they blow up, a bottle, arrows, and a ring of rupees will fly out of the different skulls.) In another room, when you enter, spiked walls will start closing in on you. Use Din's Fire to burn the walls. Beyond the walls are two Redeads and two chests. The treasure chest contains a blue rupee. The BIG, COLORFUL chest contains the Master Key! Alright! Now, find your way out of the freaky, Floormaster room. Now we're back where the boat fell. Look across to the platform across the way and spot the bunch of bomb flowers. Then whip out your Fire Arrows! Shoot the bomb flowers and they'll explode, sending a column crashin down. I certainly hope you weren't under it. >:) Now you can just walk across to the other side! Unlock the door, and go to the next room. In this room, it looks like a bunch of nothing. But you look at it through the Lens and there are a bunch of platforms leading to the Boss Door. So slip your Hover Boots on and get to the door and unlock it. In this room is a big hole...which when you fall down... brings you to the boss...

Bongo Bongo!! (That's the guys name.) These huge hands smacking a drum, bouncing you around, attached to a body you can't see without the Lens of Truth. Ladies and gentlemen, this is one hard dude. I nearly gave up on him when I first played it. Not only is he hard, but he's so freaky!! Anyway, this is what you do. Shoot his hands, one at a time with arrows or the Lonshot. Then quickly pull your Lens up and look at the main body. He's gonne come rushing at you. Smack him with the sword right before he hits you. He'll be stunned, so whack the mess out of him while you can. Then he'll get back and you have to do the same thing over again. But be careful, at first, the hands will just beat the drum you're standing on, which will sometimes mess up your aiming. But once you hit one hand, the other one will try to squish you, swat at you, pick you up and shake you!! Hope you brought back up fairies. But once you kill him, he'll melt into a puddle of that purple stuff that you saw come out of the well in the Kakariko, this dry up and disappear! YAY!!! You've helped saved another world! Get your heart and go into the light!

You are again transported to the Chamber of Sages where you encounter Impa (who looks like she's wearing biking shorts!!). She introduces herself as the Sage who protects the Temple of Shadow, and informs you that Zelda is indeed alive and well. Then she gives you the Shadow Medallion! As you are transported back to the Graveyward, Impa leaves you with the plea to watch after Zelda. (Um, hello! We dun even know where she is!...Or maybe you've figure it out already?....) Anyway, good riddance to that creepy temple! Onward!!

Onto getting the Spirit Medallion
