Chapter Three -- My View On Love
7:02 AM
Lori wakes up. Realizing it is still early, she decided to go down for a walk. She walks to the pool area. As she walks pass one of the pool, she sees Nick. Nick just got out from the pool, his hair still wet with water drippling to the ground. He uses his towel to dry himself. Sooner, he realizes he's not alone.
"Hey... good morning Lori..." He said.
"Good morning Nick. You're so early today..." Lori smiles.
"You too..." Nick said.
Lori detected there might be something wrong with Nick. He is not this quiet usually.
"Nick, is there anything wrong? You look so upset..."
"Oh... is it that obvious?" Nick said.
"I guess so..." Lori said.
"Lori... i don't understand girls around me... no offense..."
"Not taken... something wrong between you and your girlfriend?" Lori asked.
"You're one smart girl... actually she's my former girlfriend now..." Nick said.
"Oh... I'm sorry..."
"That's okay... I've went through this a lot of times already. You know, I always have busy schedules and stuff..." Nick said.
"I understand Nick. Well, from a girls point of view, I guess they want more time from you. And it's hard to be with you, because there are million of girls out there who likes you... sometimes, as your girlfriend, I think they do not see a sense of security in the relationship... It's not that they don't trust you, sometimes girls like to question their own importance to their boyfriends, and since you're so popular, they don't have enough self-confidence, and then, you guys will end up in fights." Lori expresses her true feelings.
"I've never thought about that Lori..." Nick said. "I guess I know what to do in my next relationship... I mean... the whole popularity thing might have get over my mind and I didn't treat my girlfriend right... I guess it's time for me to change too..."
"You'll always have my support Nick!" Lori winks.
"Thanks Lori... hey... wanna have breakfast together?" Nick said as he looks at Lori. She totally changes his point of view on her. He really wanna know more about this girl.
"Sure..."
They went to the Cafe and have breakfast. In the middle of their conversation, just as they become more familiar to each other, Lori started to try to get info about Ryan from Nick.
"So... Nick, how long have Ryan been you guys' manager?" Lori asked.
"About a year, what about him?"
"Oh... I'm just curious... also, back in Orlando, before we went on tour, he's always not in the office, I was always wondering where he went..." Lori said.
"Oh... he do that every week... I heard he got his own business to take care of... He's always over Tampa Bay, his house is over there too..."
"I see..." Lori said.
"Now... my time to question you..." Nick said. "I was always wondering, why you and Ethen don't look alike at all..."
"Oh... actually, Ethen is my stepbrother... my mom married his dad and brought me along..." Lori immediately thinks of this answer.
"I see..." Nick seems to believe in what Lori said.
WHEW! Lori thinks to herself.
2 MONTHS LATER
The tour is almost over. 3 more days and they'll be back to Orlando, doing the last show. In these two months, Lori and Ethen couldn't get a lot of information about Ryan. They also couldn't get an example of his medication. Thus, they've to wait til they get back to Orlando to make more investigation according to what Nick told Lori.
Today, all of them have a day off, they're in Texas right now. Nick gets a cold few days ago and is now having a fever. Lori goes to his room, as she sits herself next to Nick's bed, he wakes up.
"Hey Lori..." Nick said weakly.
