Chapter One -- When they first met...
"Good morning mom!"
"Good morning Lori, you're going to work now?"
"Yes, mom. I'm not gonna eat breakfast, I don't wanna argue with dad early in the morning!"
"Lori! I told you not to be a police, you just don't listen to me! You know I hate cops, and you insisted to be a police. What's ur problem??? And you kept on switching from one department to another, you will never stop huh?"
"Dad, I don't wanna argue with you and I'm not gonna say anything, Bye!"
"Why? Why my dad and I have to get in a fight every morning no matter what? Nah... who cares... ... oh shoot, I'm gonna be late!" Lori got in her car, a silver Volkswagen PASSAT, and drives to work. Lori was a Hong Kong born Chinese. She came to the United States when she was 15 years old. She and her family always have a really good relationship until her dad's business failed. Since then, she is always having a bad relationship with her dad. For some unknown reason, her dad hates police. But it has always been Lori's dream to become a cop. Well, her dream came true, but her relationship with her dad is just getting worse and worse everyday. As Lori was thinking about all these, she finally arrived at the LAPD (Los Angeles Police Department) head quarter.
Lori followed Detective O'Keefe to the office. "Everybody, listen up! This is Detective Lori Lee, she is gonna be part of our team starting from today!"
"Lori, let me introduce you to our team."
"This is Ethen, Mandy, Michelle, Nathan, Joe..." At the same time, Lori noticed three very outstanding guys in the team.
"And these three are our best of the best cops here in LA... this is Kevin, this is Brian, Kevin's cousin, and lastly, this is Nick."
Kevin has a really cool look, but with a really friendly smile. Kevin gave Lori a very warm impression. He looks like he's the eldest brother of the whole group. Brian is a very friendly person, you can just tell that from how he looks. Nick, the most popular guy in the LAPD head quarter, has blonde hair, pretty blue eyes and smart looking. Lori had heard a lot about him before from other girls she had worked with. Almost all the single girls in the head quarter have a crush on him. She has heard a lot about these three guys before... people said that they're the most talented cops ever, especially Nick, his gun firing skill is the best, he aims good, shoots fast, and hits targets at just the perfect spot.
"Hey guys, come over!"
"Wuz up Mandy, what kind of rumors do u have this time?" Oh... nearly forgot to talk about Mandy, she has the biggest crush on Nick, she is always sticking around Nick, but then, Nick don't like her, she just never gives up, and she likes to talk about other people.
Everyone goes up to Mandy except Lori. "Hey guys, u know what I heard? Someone told me that Lori just thinks herself is so cool. She never talk to other people and loves taking action herself, that's why she got switched from one department to another all the time. Look at her, trying to look cool? It doesn't work for us. She gotta remember THIS is the LAPD head-quarter! I bet she's not gonna stick around for long! Nick, right?"
"Just go do ur work, it's none of ur business!" Nick just got so annoyed by Mandy since the day she entered the department.
"Hi Lori, I'm Nick Carter!"
"oh... Hi! I'm Lori Lee."
And that is their first conversation... ...
