Nick sat on the edge of the bed and sat Bree down between his legs. “Did you have a good time tonight Little Girl?” He was asking.
“Mmm. I always have a good time when we go out.” She leaned back against his chest. “Why can’t I take a shower?” She whined.
He smiled into her hair. “Because, if you get in there I’ll never get you out.” She started to say something but he continued, “AND I want you in here with me. You said something at the club. You said you always heard about my ‘Backstreet parties’. Remember?” She nodded her head. “You asked me to roll with you. Well I am, Bree, and I want you here with me, okay?”
“Okay. But can I at least change? Get comfortable? Can we do that since we are not at the club anymore?” She was curious as to what he had in mind and even a little nervous, but not scared. Not with Nick. She knew, absolutely knew in her mind she was safe with him. She had always been safe with Nick.
He smiled again and kissed the back of her head before answering. “Sure, I think we can change. Will you come right back in here?” She nodded her head yes and he removed his arms from around her. “I’ll be right here waiting.”
Brianna retreated to her room and changed into a pair of tap shorts and a tank top. She also took the opportunity to wash her face. When she splashed the warm water on her face she was so tempted to take a shower. But she remembered she had promised Nick she would come right back to his room. Again she wondered just what he had up his sleeve. Things were changing between them, but so far they were going pretty slow. They had agreed to let things just go slow and continue to be friends and see what else happens. Neither seemed to be sure what more they wanted from this relationship, or at least that was what Bree thought. Drunk and drugged her thoughts became fuzzy and she shook her head clear of that train of though and walked back across the hall to Nick’s room.
She found him sitting on the edge of the bed in much the similar spot where she had left him. He too had changed and was wearing a pair of sweat shorts. The main lights were out and he had the overhead black light on. He was leaning back on his hands staring at the ceiling. “See anything interesting up there?” She asked.
Slowly he lifted his head. Looking at her his eyes were half closed as if the lids were lazy and refused to open any further, “Just waiting on you, little girl. Thought I lost ya there for a second. C’mere.” He whispered before patting the bed between his legs indicating he wanted her to sit as she had been earlier. When she sat down he wrapped his arms around her and hugged her to him. “I’m so glad you came down here, Bree.” He started. “Sorry I blew up earlier, you just caught me totally off guard.” He was rocking them back and forth.
“It’s okay Nick. I understand. We are okay now though, right?” She placed her arms over his and closed her eyes. This was familiar. This was how they had always been. This was comfortable.
“Yeah, we’re okay.” They sat like that for a few minutes before Nick went on. “Can I ask you something? Well, actually it’ll be a few somethings.”
“Sure.”
“What ever the answer I promise I won’t get mad; I’m just trying to get to a point here. How many times have you done Ecstasy? Or maybe it would be easier to answer have you done it a lot of times?” He knew what he wanted the answer to be, but he wouldn’t get upset either way.
“I don’t know the exact amount of times, Nick.” She tried to think of a number, but her brain just wouldn’t cooperate in counting. “I don’t think it has been all that many. I think I can honestly say less than a ten.” She scrunched her nose up and wrinkled her brow in concentration trying to count the parties she’d been to where she had rolled.
Nick looked at her and saw her face. He knew she was trying to count and chuckled at her attempt. “It’s okay little girl. That’s a good enough answer. It’s more than I thought.” He was surprised it was that much. “But, it really isn’t all that much if it is spaced out over a period of time.” She nodded her head at his statement, which caused him to smile. Still rocking back and forth with her he asked, “When you did roll, when the party was over, when the club closed, I know this is probably none of my business and you can answer this any way you want or not answer it at all, again I am just trying to get to a point here, did you just go home or umm,“ he wasn’t sure he should ask the next part. He felt pretty sure he knew the answer, but before he continued he wanted to make sure.
“What Nick? You can ask me anything. You know that. It doesn’t matter what it is.” She turned her head to look at him.
He took a breath and went on, “Did you just go home, or did you continue the party, go home with someone?” There, I said it.
She smiled. “Besides crashing with Megan? I just went home. Why? And why was that such a hard question to ask?”
He just shook his head and cocked a crooked grin. “It was personal question, Bree. And as to the why of it, there is a reason. Ecstasy is a group drug. It is meant to be taken and experienced with people.” She was nodding her head yes. “Taking it in a club or a party with lots of people is only part of the experience, baby.” Now he was rubbing his hands along her belly and his nose along the back of her neck. “You go home and you take a long hot shower. You ever wonder why that hot shower feels like the best shower you’ve ever taken in your whole entire life?” She closed her eyes and shook her head no. “It’s all part of the drug, little girl. Everything feels better.”
